It's just a different opinion, and it was better.

It probably had the best cast of any Big Brother on Channel 5. But given that the experience of Big Brother is also based on the live coverage, no series on Channel 5 can be as good as any series on Channel 4.

Watching them back does not give you a true representation of what BB was like at the time.

It wasn't. Big Brother 3 had one of the best casts of all time, some of the most memorable moments of all time, some of the most exciting eviction battles of all time (Spencer vs. Alex was huge). It did not suffer from non stop interference and the live feed was constantly worth watching.

No series on Channel 5 comes close.

Only Alex, Jade and Adele were any good. Nostalgia is the reason.

5, 6 and 7 were the top three series with the best casts. 13 follows after.

Yeah this series has been absolutely **** since 4 In 4 Out. At least BB12 had Heaven dragging Rebeckah and BB15 had Ashleigh slaying the competition

Every housemate from that series contributed. Almost all of them were memorable.

Sorry, you're just being ridiculous. Maybe you liked Deana, Luke A and Adam too much, I don't know.Maybe you were too young to watch BB3 when it was on. But the idea that series 13 was better than the series which had the live coverage (with multiple feeds I remind you) and got Channel 4 some of the highest viewing figures it has ever had in its history is absurd.

Series 3 is a model of what Big Brother ought to still be.

I'm sure part of the allure of BB3 is having to be there, but watching it back it really didn't resonate with me at all? It wasn't bad by any means but it was just okay. I found the cast to be pretty unlikable too? The only people I cared for were Alex, Adele, Sandy, and Tim. But at the end of the day how successful a series isn't indicative of its quality. CBB15 was a huge success despite being completely atrocious imo!

And yes, this series is complete garbage and it has been for a while, and 12/15/16 are absolutely the worst of BBUK. If I had to rank the C5 series, it'd probably go...

Of course. Big Brother is a live, interactive show. You can watch Big Brother back if you want, but it will not be the same experience as watching it with the live coverage. Back then the HL shows were only 30 minutes I believe. But the actual live coverage was as compelling as any series of Big Brother. Spencer was actually a fascinating character. But not the sort who came across well on a heavily edited show.


It was a success by the standards of Channel 5. And it was probably piggy backing to some extent on the success of the show the previous year.

BB12 only sucked because of the awful 18-30 casting and the TOWIE feel the show had. It was absolutely awful. So glitzy and gaudy.

BB13 suffered from the same thing. But it had a better cast and more natural drama which made it superior to BB12. BB12 was centered around showmances.

BB on C5 has come a long way since CBB8/BB12. Despite, how bad the civilian series have been over the last 2 years.

BB16 is below BB15 for me. But nothing will ever be as bad as BB12.

BB12 at least didn't suffer from too much manipulation, too many ridiculous twists or too many desperate stunts. I agree the cast was awful, but I still found Aaron interesting and the likes of Harry and Faye quite funny at times.

The last 2 series have been ruined by the producers and deserve to be remembered as the absolute worst series of all time.

Exactly. That's one thing I've mentioned on previous threads.

The show was gaudy and tacky during BB12 and BB13. But the series were natural and felt more like Channel 4 series, without having a nominations twist every other minute and usually had one major twist throughout the series (BB12 had the Crypt, and BB13 had the White Room).

I'd also add BB14 to your last point.
BB14 had just as much outside contact and producer interference as BB15 did. But, BB14 had a better cast and tasks, which make it superior than the two series we've had over the last year.

I hated BB15 but enjoying this one, I don't get all the hate for this series, & BB12 I really that series too.
