They need to have open auditions again with actual real people and not recruits. The basic format of nominations EVERY week, no alterations whatsoever. Rule breaks treated with severity. And lastly, live feed.

It would absolutely flourish if we were able to watch whenever we wanted: that's the attraction with BB. Or it was back in the glory days.

MB. 04-07-2015 12:57 PM

Skip a year, do a proper all stars series next summer and take time to re-think their approach to civilian BB.

I only said its unrealistic as c5 appear to not want it back fullstop. Apparently once the show has 5m viewers they will do it

I would pay for a live feed. As would many others. It would offset any additional cost they reckon they will incur from putting it even online..but they won't even consider it

I do not think BB is BB without live feed

Jason. 04-07-2015 12:57 PM

I don't think skipping a year would help, TBH.

Well secrets & lies got 1.9, I think it can be done but only in the ways i've suggested.

Jason. 04-07-2015 12:58 PM

Apparently Ben Frow wants live feed or some shizzle like that?

By live feed, does mean 24/7 or just an hour a night or something?

Glenn. 04-07-2015 01:00 PM

The money they could of potentially earn if they charged for an online feed. If 1m people signed up for £1 that's £1m in the pot for them.

BB13 would've almost got around 1.8/1.9m had the Olympics not shattered the ratings.

I think they could've got 2m for BB15, had the series not been Power Trip, and have a better cast, better theme or even no theme, and a better production.

Before BB15 launched, we already had BB14 which did well, and almost gained 2m, not to mention the attention CBB13 got earlier in the year as well. Then they went down the Power Trip route, which killed it.

Glenn. 04-07-2015 01:01 PM

C4 charred something like £14.99 for a series pass right?

Jason. 04-07-2015 01:01 PM

How much were the passes for BB11?

Glenn. 04-07-2015 01:03 PM

I think it was £14.99.

Glenn. 04-07-2015 01:04 PM

500,000 people sign up to £14.99 series pass= £7,495,000

I can't believe they aren't doing it tbh

If they made a really good website with the live coverage and other features, I would pay a subscription fee.

I did that for BB11, but all they were offering was the live feed and that was it. I'd pay for it, just for that, but if they want more people to be involved they need to create something worth spending on.

Can't remember. Something like that. Probably a bit too much given what was on offer. Get the price down to 9.99, have people be able to pay with their phone credits as well as the normal ways and have loads of features and easy to access archival footage, like every episode of every series just waiting there for you to re-watch, and I think it could be a winner.

Anything that displays some inspiration on their part would be nice. Instead of just prodding away at people until they lash out at each other

That's a reasonable price. I don't see why they don't do live feed packages.

Yearly Package = £30 (Save £1)
24/7 Live Feed for Big Brother and both series of Celebrity Big Brother in January and August.

Summer Package = £23
24/7 Live Feed for Big Brother and Summer Celebrity Big Brother

Separate Live Feed Passes -
Big Brother = £15
Celebrity Big Brother = £8 (per series)

That way, the viewers who want live feed can pay for it, and Channel 5 get something out of it, instead of airing it for free. Which also covers Channel 5's cost excuse for not having it in the first place, as it is making them money.

Yep, the Power Trip theme was awful. And they earnt such bad will from the viewers with Helen. And having given us 2 hours worth of live coverage every night from Midnight, we went back to having next to nothing. So stupid on their part after having moved in the right direction.

Exactly.

By March 2014, we already had a great season of BB and an amazing series of CBB.

Then they screw it up, a few months later. The fact that BB15's ratings were low from the moment after the 2nd launch suggests that those additional 0.3m who tuned into BB14 were not interested after the first launch and didn't bother tuning in again.

CBB15 was the highest rated series of BB on C5, and I personally think easily the best celebrity series in general, I don't think they need to steer away from a CBB15-style series to "do fine". Quite the opposite, in fact.

Unpopular opinion, but I think CBB13 (while good) was overrated. I will rewatch it at some point I think, though.

Didn't you like CBB3 or CBB4?

I haven't seen them yet.

Sorry, I should have clarified I meant out of the ones I've seen (from CBB5 onwards). I still need to watch those two though, I know they're popular. :)

You'll love them. They're fantastic.
CBB4 would probably replace CBB15 as you're favourite.

CBB3 may be your 3rd or 4th in the list depending how much you like CBB13 and CBB9.

I'm just making assumptions. It's your opinion

Ramsay 04-07-2015 01:32 PM

The thought of BB only being CBB makes me sick

It was reported that the BB11 and UBB live feed on Channel 4 got 80,000 subscribers. They wouldn't get that number on Channel 5.

Fame Academy had a live feed from 9 in the morning to Midnight. They could do something like that for a web feed, only perhaps till a bit later, say 2 am.

In regards to cost issues. Money could be saved by...

1. Having a subscription charge that is worth paying
2. Putting less celebrities in the 2 series (Just cut down on 2 or maybe 3 and you'd probably save yourself well over £100k)

James 04-07-2015 01:35 PM

And normal Big Brother is better than Celebrity. Better for this forum too, with more people getting involved in it, over the course of the series.
