I'm also wondering if it was the parents that have somehow gotten him into trouble.

in the article it states that the father and the son were barred from travelling, not the mother. The story is focussing on the child where it could easily be the father that triggered the alert.

If it were the father though surely they would have allowed the child to travel with the mother? I don't think they will release why this has happened....it will just be a matter of national security I would think?

That pic doesn't ring true for me, yes it's a daft gut instinct but that kids eyes are not smiling.

A blessing in disguise for the poor little mite.

I am not commenting on the particular incident on this thread, because - as LT and Arista quite rightly point out - there is not yet enough information to enable us to form a judgement.

However, I would advise any members who are ridiculing the notion that some children can be dangerous and evil, to remember that Venables and Thompson were just 10 years old when they committed the most inhumane, evil acts on poor Jamie Bulger, and that Abu Ubaidah - the so-called 'youngest ISIS terrorist martyr' was also just 10.

The Security Forces have their reasons for what may seem inane decisions concerning security, and perhaps we ALL should reserve judgement until they deem it safe to reveal details to the general public - or at the very least some on here should refrain from ridiculing other members whose views simply do not align with theirs.

:clap1::clap1:My thoughts exactly Kirk.

I think that's quite a naive way of looking at things. Questions should always be levied at organisations with power lest they abuse it. In an age when the NSA's messy spy tactics are known to the general public, questioning Security agencies should be encouraged. Shutting up and sitting quietly, hoping that the people in power have your best interest at heart doesn't fix or help anything, it only adds to the problem.

If there is nothing more to this story than printed then Homeland Security are not doing their job properly and should be focusing on real potential 'threats'.However it is very strange,I wonder if there's a key piece of the story missing?Maybe the dad got caught with a joint last time he was in Vegas or something?Maybe they think he could have used his kid as a mule or something?I don't think we have enough info.

I'm laughing because that's exactly what the article makes it sound like happened.

They were banned from flying to the US because some man declared he didn't like the look of an 8 year old despite them getting through all the other security checks just fine. :joker:

Ah I just think the lad looks sad on the pic.... no other reason :laugh: it is an odd excuse to use.

dojo88 17-08-2015 08:01 PM

I just hope the idiots that banned the poor kid and his parents realise how much they humiliated them by turning them away in front of all those other passengers who managed to board it, if that happened to me, I would feel insulted.

I just hope that this kid gets a happy ending, every child deserves the right to go on holiday, this is just pure discrimination and it just makes me sick in the stomach that an innocent underage child can be banned from leaving the country but millions of illegal immigrants can be allowed to enter this country, should be the other way round!
