It does for initial intrigue, you know how judgmental people are... the ratings will fall off the roof if something immediately doesn't happen within the first 2 days with "lesser celebrities".

your right that the lesser knows are better quality, but people who give up after launch won't get to that point.

James is not well know ,for example and i can see him making a great housemate. He has a strong personality.

Perez was definitely one of the most all-round famous housemates, I'd say he was one of the biggest signings actually.
