I... I just don't what to make of it tbh. I mean, I really like the break bumpers, the new ad graphics and I LOVE the end credit promotions, but the idents are just straight up weird. They're all quite creepy, but the shuffling fly/miners/microscopic germ are the ones that are freaking me out the most.

TLDR - I'll be avoiding C4's late night Come Dine With Me repeats for a while as the idents will give me nightmares.

Did these replace the ones where several the aligned to make up the 4 logo? Those were good

Why are some of these terrifying for no apparent reason :worry:

The one ident with the pieces of the 4 moving in a swirl looks like a clock.

glad i don't watch tv that much anymore because **** sitting through them, they are disgusting.

They can't even be bothered to put the logo on the promo end boards, just the blocks.

They can be bothered. They just want it to be a risky and innovative new design but tbh it looks like a midlife crisis

Updated the OP with a Channel 4 press release. It includes more details about the rebrand and how it was made. Also, this is the reason that they've given for the lack of an actual logo in the idents.

We didn’t want to tell people what channel they’re watching. We wanted to tell them why they’re watching it the first place. They watch because Channel 4 stands for something important. We wanted the new branding to reflect this.

We started with the original, iconic Lambie Nairn 4 logo and broke it down into its constituent parts; the nine blocks. The blocks represent Channel 4’s incredibly diverse qualities. The blocks are free to demonstrate our remit; to be irreverent, innovative, alternative and challenging. They are free to flow through everything on the channel: our typeface, on-screen menus, on-screen graphics, off-air logo, Channel 4 News, Channel 4 Racing, all the way through to the idents.

The idents present the blocks as kryptonite-like. They tell the story of their origin and how they have a powerful impact on the world around them. Just as Channel 4 does. It is a story that we shall build on.

Also, for some reason the All4 logo is now Channel 4's corporate logo.

They just showed a special ident for The Simpsons as well which was nothing like the other four idents, but more like the break bumpers with yellow blocks and some googly eyes.

I like all of the idents, especially the clock, the dustmite, and The Simpsons ones.

I really like the Simpsons one :love:.

Channel 4 News' new look is also quite nice.
