I was taking lessons from my uncle because he's an actual driving instructor, so I was pretty comfortable with him teaching me up until that point, it just sort of threw me off

I'm looking to get back into it after my birthday though so alls good

Crimson Dynamo 05-10-2015 04:47 PM

Yes a d all the bloody time. I learned in Camden so it was no picnic oi can tell ya

Calderyon 05-10-2015 05:01 PM

No. I have always wanted to, but it costs too much here. Meaning I donīt have money for it.

For information sake:

Basic level (B) costs already 1670 € ~ 1 236,13 GBP (This is the card you need to be able to drive a normal passenger car)

And you are gonna want to train also, meaning Training/Exercise/Feedback Level costs an additional 180 € ~ 133,24 GBP.

Then there is the final stage, which is the Advanced Level, which is either (With your own car) 310 €/287.19 GBP +Training course payment of 80 €/58.91 GBP or (With the schoolīs car) 420 €/368.20 GBP + Training course payment of 80 €/58.91 GBP

Then there are additional costs:

51 €/37.56 GBP for driverīs license permit (to have a permission to drive a driverīs license ie: learners permit). This is the long time permit. Short time permit costs more. (60 €/44.18 GBP)

Exam payments:

Theory: 28 €/20 GBP (Slow theory exam costs 85 €/62.59 GBP)
Driving exam: 59 €/43.45 GBP

Finally you have the final payment of 24 €/17.67 GBP for the card itself.

Youīll also need two passport pics and a medical certificate. These are for the the driving permit/learners permit.

These are just for the basic card, which enables you to drive a normal automobile/passenger car. For truck card (C1) and stuff (A1/A2/A) you have different payments.

Note: this is just one of the driving schools, but the payments donīt vary much.

I bet you're one of those women who sings at the top of her voice on the way to work to Katy Perry blasting on the radio whilst rising above the moody male drivers?

I'm having lessons atm (I've been saying that for years in sure :joker:) I keep doing mock tests, the one I did yesterday was only 11 minors but 3 majors :bored:

Dominic 05-10-2015 05:15 PM

Yeah and I do

Ninastar 05-10-2015 05:18 PM

yeah I drive and I love it so much  nothing like blasting out your music when you have to drive far away to get to work.

Calderyon 05-10-2015 05:30 PM

If someone lends me/or i manage to collect 2300-2800 €/1693.71 GBP - 2061.91 GBP or if i move to some other country, iīll do it.

Just never seemed worth it with insurance and what not especially being a student. Public transport does the job.

Well I took about 10 lessons between Dec 2013 - Feb 2014 then I moved and I didn't start again until July this year so it was like learning all over again, plus guernseys roads are terrifying because they're so ****ing narrow, I've had maybe 14/15 over here

Princess 06-10-2015 12:08 AM

No, I never bothered to learn because I was adamant I was going to live in London and well now I live in London.

Jessica. 06-10-2015 12:14 AM

No, I can't, not really interested in learning yet.

waterhog 06-10-2015 07:38 AM
