I suppose there could be other factors, they have more land to build bigger average houses and £250,000 in the USA might not be equivalent to the same in the UK. There could be differences in wages and they gotta pay for health care and guns and stuff. :laugh: Those wooden walls probably cost less to build than bricks too. London prices are silly though not just for houses but for everything!!

Which is also why I haven't moved out of my parents place. Apartments are a bit expensive too.

The fact you're highlighting that as if it's shocking I think says a lot about the differences in prices :laugh: To save the 220k equivalent in the UK it'd take about a decade without any spending on the type of job you're talking about.

I'm very envious of you Americans when it comes to house prices.

In order for it to be a meaningful comparison, you need to take in to account average income, taxes etc too. House prices on their own mean nothing
