it is against the law to cold call (in most circumstances), so absolutely no-one should be cold calling. I don't get any marketing calls as I registered on a site several years ago excluding my phone number. Never had a marketing call since

..no they should not but the person on the other end of the phone was just given those numbers to call...and not the person to be angry with ..which I do understand as well though and I think everyone feels frustration sometimes with cold calls but there is a number to dial to stop them so why not do that instead of making threats...

Yes and on their screen
it tells them what line I am

I am not making Threats

Josy 12-10-2015 07:17 AM

Our phone number is ex directory so we shouldn't be receiving any cold calls but we still get them.

I just tell them 'sorry I don't have time/not interested' and please remove my number from your system as it's ex directory.

You did.

Every time you fill in your details online or in a store for a free and sometimes even a paid service. The hidden cost is, you have just given your information away to be used for marketing purposes.

Read the small print.

Niamh. 12-10-2015 10:11 AM

Yes Good One

Despite being registered with TPS I still get cold calls sometimes. While cold calls are really annoying I try not to take it out on the actual person calling. It's a rotten job, I wouldn't want to do it, but if I needed a job I would. I wouldn't want people being rude to me because I was trying to make a living.
