Also with this 'if another channel has a similar show to the BBC the BBC has to axe their show' - what about the BBC showing both GBBO and Masterchef? :worry:

Imagine if ITV got their grubby mits on TA it would be full of trash TOWIE wannabes faster than you could beg for them to axe it

At the moment (as far as I know) they're only really going for expensive shows that they think a commercial channel can do for less money, or pre-existing formats that the BBC have bought that they think could go to commercial channels instead (i.e. The Voice), or both

Also the government interfering with the dealings of big businesses is a very non-right wing way of doing things is it not?

They just want to cut at anything government-funded, they are trying to shrink the size of the state.

Apprentice & GBBO would be gone.
And we'd also lose BBC News meaning the corporations would practically take over.

we wouldn't have to pay a stupid ****ing licence fee though

no way is it worth it when other countries and channels produce quality programming without having to take money off us

Well yeah, I'd have a problem if we were paying for a channel in another ****ing country.

Name me oNE channel in any country that is to the standard of the BBC across the board. Bearing in mind, there is more to the BBC than BBC 1.

I mean if you're able to enjoy its services and the benefits of them free of charge then why not do that and and instead spend your time complaining about government decisions that matter more like oh, I don't know, tax credit cuts
