'A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in Northern Ireland in connection with a cyber-attack on TalkTalk, the Metropolitan police said.

The boy was arrested in County Antrim at about 4.20pm on Monday by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), working with detectives from the Metropolitan police’s cyber crime unit (MPCCU).

The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Computer Misuse Act, the police said. He has been taken into custody at a County Antrim police station where he will later be interviewed.'

what's the alteration? :joker:

They are saying now that no bank details were accessed and that it was a minor attack

Funny how the original story was that Russian Islamic extremists were to blame

Correct - he'll probably have a very good career as a White Hat hacker.

(For those who don't know, this is a hacker who is paid to hack mservers and secure systems by the companies themselves - and then tell them what information or control they were able to get and how they did it.)

That's if it's handled right. If he's prosecuted, he'll probably be snapped up by a hacker group as soon as he's an adult and taught how to cover his tracks better

Yeah everyone knows that exposure to violent video games leads to... err... hacking computer systems. That's entirely logical, isn't it? I personally don't know any kids who plays "violent games" who HASN'T turned his hand to the nefarious world of coding.

That's why talktalk shouldn't be left off the hook :hehe:

They are to blame when their security can be compromised by a kid
