People are ****ing horrendous. Hope they get slapped with a hefty fine and community service or something, you can't just punch people in the face for no reason!

tip to anyone dealing with violent women, grab them by the hair and don't let go.

From the footage it looks like there wasn't anyone else on the bus, other than the other woman who helped her afterwards (who also looks older, maybe 50s or 60s). So really no one who could take them on.

I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation from these fine upstanding young women... i'm sure the old woman said something racist, and these obviously respectable young black women were the victims. - Russell Brand

A 14-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm (ABH) after an elderly woman was punched in the face on a bus in south London. Police issued an appeal for information after the 87-year-old was attacked on the 166 bus in Croydon on 16 October.

CCTV footage shows two female suspects, aged between 14 and 18, getting on the bus at Brighton Road, Coulsdon, allegedly without paying. An argument then broke out between the girls and the bus driver, resulting in a majority of the other passengers getting off.

As the elderly victim stood up, one of the suspects punched her in the face before both teenagers ran off. The victim was taken by the London Ambulance Service to St Helier Hospital and discharged later that day after suffering a black eye.

A 14-year-old girl has been taken to a south London police station where she remains in custody. Officers have also identified the second female involved in the incident but she has not been arrested at this time.

Police Sergeant Arran Hillier, from the Croydon Safer Transport Team, said: "This was a nasty attack on an elderly woman, who just wanted to get home

14? for ****s sake. i don't even want the 14 y/o punished, but i want her parents to spend 2 years in jails at least. Shame on the parents.

Disgusting human being to do that to an old lady. I hope she get months of community service in an old people home, it not just the damage to the old lady physically it is the mental scars that may prevent her from using public transport in the future.

I wouldn't let this little twonk anywhere near an old folks home, if she's assaulted one she'd have no problem doing it again.

I hope this is just an attempt at satire.

...whatever the court decides for this girl, I hope the lady is ok and gets as much care and help as she needs right now...I know of older people who have just fallen or been knocked in a crowd, nothing so brutal as this and they've struggled in leaving their houses again...

That's the issue really, the loss of confidence, the bruises will heal.

some young people regardless of race, religion or education have no boundaries and no moral compass. They see no harm in using violence against anyone big, small young or old.

The word feral comes to mind, these young people are the fruits of this generation and we deserve everything we get.

No discipline, respect, honour, morality all replaced with a strange outlook tempered with years of violent films, video games, gang culture, violent hardcore music. Add to that a breakdown of the family unit, lone single parent families.

No discipline at home, no discipline at school , a strange "you can't talk to me like that I have rights..etc.. ffs has resulted in a generation of nasty little hoodlums.

Ask yourself one question... If you saw a gang of teenagers beating up another teenager would you intervene ?

Would you....??
