I forgot I was an impartial devil child for being gay

Jamesy 08-01-2016 10:11 PM

Made the show look like an even worse professional mess than it already is. It was hardly an interview, just a 20 minute argument. I agreed with what Emma said but really this is was a mess.

Yet another attempt to justify the mess it seems

I don't care much for impartial interviewers, I like them to be passionate about they believe in.

Funny how all these people calling for everyone to respect Winstons Christians views or disgusted by Emma not repressing her own views

I'm straight and think she did a sterling job :hee:

Who on earth looks at the two people in that interview and comes away from it thinking that Emma is the 'vitriolic' one jfc :umm2:

BEST interview she ever did in my opinion and I haven't liked a lot of her interviews but she trod right over him and didn't let him dodge the question 'Did you really say those words' He was saying he was prepared for boooing crowds as he had been a boxer, she didn't let him get away with that one either. The crowd booed because in one statement he has insulted belittled and hurt a very important section of society. WELL done Emma

smudgie 08-01-2016 10:40 PM

Rylan managed a much better interview, and got more answers.
Thought Emma was very unprofessional tonight. She would have got a better interview if she had been more impartial. The interview is not meant to be about her personal views after all.

From the start Emma clearly wanted the interview to be about her, her views and gain some kind of respect from people for so clearly portraying her opinion on the matter.

'Look at me I don't agree with those horrid gay comments' I'm pretty sure 97% of the British public don't agree with them, so just calm down love.

Tom4784 08-01-2016 11:25 PM

Generally people who whine about the 'PC brigrade' (lol) being catered or pandered to are typically upset that they aren't the only ones being pandered to. They only dislike pandering when they aren't the recipient.

ScottyT 08-01-2016 11:28 PM

It's just cringe worthy to see this new trend of being PC. Look at me guys I'm so on board with PC look how I'm over reacting to every offensive thing that is said!

Seems to me its the other way around really. It's like "look at me rebelling against all this PC nonsense" when really it has little to do with being PC. It's to do with gay people having the right to a loving relationship and a family of their own just like those of us born heterosexual do. How is speaking out strongly against that being called 'abuse' over reacting? It's getting to the point where those who are fed up with so much PC are losing their perspective.

It might be sad to see people caring to you, but for gay people (at least myself) it's nice to see people caring about us and making a stand.

Honestly the reason the 'PC' accusations carry no weight anymore is because people use it to defend clear racism and homophobia.

bb should never have given the clown the time of day in the first place and should be held accountable as much, if not more than winston.

Super job Emma, speaking for the people

We disagree. ;)

She wasn't speaking for the people. She was putting forward an opinion - like Winston has an opinion. But she did it in a 'I'm right, you're wrong - get off stage now' way.

Withano 09-01-2016 07:10 AM

She was incredible. Reminding the interviewee to answer the question that was given instead of skirting around it is part of the job too and she done that great.

He avoided answering a simple question and instead waffled on about boxing and the law. I'd be dismissive with the moron too.
