Come on Nico

Niamh. 27-11-2016 01:02 PM

Hamilton totally trying to hold Nico up

James 27-11-2016 01:55 PM

Totally legit tactic, it was the only way Lewis could get the title in that race, don't know what the team were thinking - telling him to speed up, but well done Nico.

Drew. 27-11-2016 02:11 PM

The Mercedes team are a joke, imagine having a chance to win the title after a years worth of work only to pretty much be told not to fight for it at the end.. Lewis did the right thing. I'm happy for Nico but he isn't even in the top 3 drivers in the championship, he never really does anything out of the ordinary and in times where he's had to pull something out of the bag he messes things up for either himself or the team. can't help but think hes got really lucky this year. I guess thats F1 though, the most powerful cars win and not always the best drivers.. Verstappen on the other hand :worship: can't wait to see more of him next year

I think it's just that they are technocrats used to treating the sport as a science and doing things by the numbers.

Iceman 27-11-2016 02:46 PM

Yes. Get in Nico. Hamilton trying dirty tactics and not working. Enjoy that number 2 position. German World Champion in a German team.

Niamh. 27-11-2016 02:55 PM

Hamilton did Nico a favour really, he made his championship win even more deserved. So happy that smug asshole didn't win

Or they wanted to win the race and Lewis could have seriously jeopardised that

They've won every race this year apart from two. If they wanted to they could impose team orders in every race and turn F1 into a totally-boring procession.

Yup

I've completely gone off Lewis this past year, i'm not really a fan of him or who hes become anymore but the team didn't give a toss about him or his title challenge today. The majority of the team always seem anti Lewis and pro Nico. Plenty of times throughout the year when drivers ignore team orders which are going against them in order to race and compete who get praised for making the sport more entertaining and watchable

I'm really warming to Seb this year again too, his ribbing of Nico/Lewis' strained relationship is pretty funny. I was glad he was on the Podium with them because he's the only one who'd say something about what went on i think

Niamh. 28-11-2016 10:27 AM

Also, felt really sorry for Jenson with his car packing in on his final race :(

Drew. 28-11-2016 10:36 AM

Jenson deserved such a better send off  he didn't seem too disappointed though which was good

aw he must have been though, he just always comes across so positive and upbeat

Niamh. 02-12-2016 12:43 PM

Apparently Nico has retired

So shocked, don't think anyone saw that coming. Fair enough though, he's achieved what he wanted and now hes putting his family first.. will be really interesting to see who replaces him.

I'd love to see Alonso move although knowing his luck Mercedes would turn s**t just when he does :hehe:

 Yeah would be really interesting to see him and Lewis teaming up again. Wonder what the odds are on a shock Jenson return

Slim enough I'd say although Hamilton would probably rather him than someone like Alonso (no offence to the lovely Jenson)

Iceman 02-12-2016 01:49 PM

Apparently Bottas is going to merc with wehrlein going to Williams.

Oh he'll be stiff competition for Lewis I reckon

Cherie 03-12-2016 09:12 AM

Not really a fan of F1, the rivalry is the only interesting thing about it :idc: If Hamiltons car hadn't let him down, it's likely he would have been world champion, shame for the fans that Rosberg retired
