I dislike bb9 but I still love lisa, sara, rachel and some other controversial choices!

Pete was very manipulative in BB7! I remember him in the final weeks telling them his dead friend came to him in a dream saying he will win Big Brother, and if he doesn't he will lose faith in God/Heaven :nono:

Yes this is the main thing I was referring to! If anyone else had said that they would've stood ZERO chance of winning.

Pete won BB7 the moment he fell down the stairs on Launch Night tbh

Also the way he treat Aisleyne after the persuasion task because she mumbled her speech

Andy from Season 15 USA. He said horrible things on feeds and I really did not like him, and was angry when he won. Saying that he is actually funny on twitter and does not give a **** if you hate him, plus he played a great game and one of the best winners.

Yeah that annoyed me. Like a speech during a task is really going to change the public's mind on who they want to win and ruin his chances of winning. What a cocky dickhead he was during that.

I liked Rodrigo in BB10 when I watched it first time but I couldn't bare him on a rewatch.

I've never liked Pete or Brian Dowling

The diversity was too forced, you could tell the HMs were only chosen to tick boxes, whereas the BB6/BB7 diversity was them being cast based on their diverse personalities.

But Noirin was the best thing to come out of BB10  She's the only reason I may rewatch BB10 at some point in the future.

That's a really interesting point you bring up. I think the diversity was too forced. Having said that, I also think the lack of diversity is also too forced in most Channel 5 seasons, and the opposite has happened. And having experienced that take place, I definitely prefer forced diversity over none of it. I remember one of the BB10 housemates telling me that once they told them their ethnicity, they were automatically skipped through the line and through to the next stage. I believe instead this happens now with the straight white model/z-lister types both male and female.

As you said, the best seasons are made when the best people are cast. And often enough, that ends up being a diverse cast. Through diverse casts, each person brings different values to the show bringing great discourse and entertaining television. It's just a shame Channel 5 don't seem to get that.

I disagree. Yes, it was very diverse, but they picked a range of interesting and unique characters.

Dominic 19-03-2016 08:29 PM

I also watched a bit of BB9 and loved Kathreya but I loathe her now

Dominic 19-03-2016 08:31 PM

Yeah BB10 had tons of interesting characters. The female cast is very diverse and all were great. The male cast had tons of unique characters. There were also tons of people to love and tons of people to hate. It deffo wasnt forced

14 minorities and only 8 straight white males/females. Just looked it up. Damn, BB10 really rocked it. Channel 5 could never!

And as people above have said, yes they were diverse ethnically and sexuality-wise but also very much so through personality. If production was better that year, it could've been a golden series I think.

TomC 19-03-2016 08:32 PM

The one problem I have with the BB10 cast is there were some people who quite clearly weren't mentally stable. Angel and Sree.

Other than that it was delicious!

Black Dagger 19-03-2016 08:33 PM

I'd say Luke I guess? (Marsden)

****ing hated his BB9 stint and he's probably in my bottom 10 of male housemates, but his BOTS appearances (not that he goes on much anymore) are glorious and he usually has righteous opinions.

I agree! Both have proved to be legendary. It's just so sad that Sree cut his wrists. And Angel clearly isn't safe with herself either - she didn't eat for 4 days!
