BREAKING NEWS: "Police now think that Maddie was either snatched by a faction of shape-shifting Martians, or eaten by a small squad of gun-toting badgers trained by Al Qaeda using a futuristic pavlovian VR indoctrination sphere. These are the last two possibilities that don't involve either of her parents so it must be one of them."

Honestly, at this point that would not surprise me. It is just embarrassing if these stories are actually coming from SY.

So you're breaking into an apartment and a 3 year old sees you. You COULD run away, probably getting away with it completely, or there's a small chance you do get caught and get basically zero punishment for an attempted burglary that didn't even include B&E. But no! You have a brainwave. The best solution will be to kidnap and presumably murder the child, ensuring a large-scale manhunt in the area and, if caught, life in prison.

It defies all ****ing logic why are people buying into this utterly ridiculous complete ****ing bull****. It makes me genuinely angry. People can't be this stupid, they simply can't be.

Exactly. Plus..they left all valuables in the apartment too...odd for people planning a burglary to take off with a kid and leave everything else.

I was rereading the statements and such the other day, Fiona said that the balcony door was left open so that Madeleine could go and find her parents if needed (?!) yet for some reason we were told it was impossible for her to have left on her own...how does that make sense? Nothing makes ****ing sense. So glad Amarals book is back on sale and hopefully someone has the balls to get it published in English. More and more people are waking up to this bull****..public mood is definitely turning and its about bloody time too. I really hope this poor mite gets justice one day, I don't think she will though.

If they truly wanted their daughter found, they would have done the interviews and television for NO money. Anything to spark debate and awareness and get their daughter found.

To be fair, I believe they usually do. I know they didn't get paid for Oprah and such.

I fail to see how pulling out of a massive shows appearance helps in their apparent goal of finding Maddie though...any more than getting a large payoff from Amaral would have. All of a sudden its all 'we don't want the court case to take attention away from the search'...who started the case? And they were all too happy to bleat on about it whilst they thought they were getting 400k or whatever it was. Happy that he was too broke to have proper defence at his appeal as they had all his assets frozen. Unlucky that not everyone else likes to see something so onesided and actually one of the only people who ever actually tried to find out what happened to their daughter.

I don't think we will ever be able to buy a book here. Hopefully an English version is stocked somewhere though and it will be pretty easy to buy. I have read it and honestly, its so far away from what the McCanns will have you believe. They are NEVER accused of murdering their daughter and the book outlines the lines of inquiry the police followed during the investigation and how they came to the conclusion that the abduction story was a fairytale. Its actually really interesting and kind of shows that the Portuguese police weren't as useless as we were told at all. I would buy a physical copy if I could even though I have read it though.

Mr Mitchell played down speculation of a multi-million pound deal for the interview.

"Oprah Winfrey does not pay for interviews," he said.

"Kate and Gerry will not be receiving a single dollar for this and neither will the fund for Madeleine.

"The importance is the global platform it gives them to look for that breakthrough in the search for Madeleine."
:suspect:

I know Mitchell talks a load of rubbish most of the time though

How did he manage to pay his solicitor for the appeal? I heard somewhere that people were making donations to him

There was an appeal fund set up by Leanne, who was hounded so badly by Mc fans on Twitter she had a break down and closed her account ,it raised twice the money needed in 2 weeks !! so strong is the support for him,McCann froze all his assets 7 years ago,and without the backing of the public his appeal wouldn't even have took place ....there was even a £1000 donation from a group of policemen/women ...... and do you know Daily Mail are currently doorstepping people who donated ... An everyday missing child case ?

So the public paid for his appeal? Brilliant. Yeah, the newspaper protection of those two is worrying and very very strange. You can bet if those parents were on benefits and living in a council estate those newspapers would have had them tried and sentenced through the media years ago...baffling indeed

Madeleine McCann's parents have led prayers at a vigil in their home town nine years to the day since she vanished during a family holiday in Portugal.

Kate and Gerry McCann also released a statement saying there is 'always hope' of finding their daughter who vanished nine years ago from their holiday apartment on the Algarve.

I've just read the sections from the first four chapters and as someone who remains totally open minded about this, I don't find anything that makes you sit up and say "wtf?" Perhaps if I was convinced it was the parents I'd be clinging to his every word and every suspicion but you shouldn't make accusations based on a hunch.
From what I've read, it sounds like the Portuguese cop is trying to raise suspicion of a media and British police conspiracy.

Are we meant to be alarmed that some of the first words Kate said were, "Madeleine's been abducted". I once lost my three year old in M&S and the first thing that came to my then hysterical mind was, "he's been abducted", because as a parent, we are programmed to think the worst.
