Im not sure really, like I doubt many of them knew about the extension unless they were fans of the show.

I doubt they know if there relatives were in the house, i'm sure most it was standard questions that everyone gets asked, like have you had past relationships etc.

And producers could just look through their FB to find out the names of the people ex's probably.

I'm sure someone has mentioned it in the house, there's probably loads of theories spinning round like most years. I'm sure they will have discussed the possibilities of more HM's entering etc.

I can't see any paranoia happening whatsoever... Big Brother's looking a little silly right now.

I mean they don't even search the housemates' social media accounts to get an idea of how they are as a person / what racist/homophobic/bigoted views they may hold so I'd rule out the BIB

Yeah perhaps, they might have just mentioned the ex's name when discussing it in auditions.

Jason. 09-06-2016 11:14 PM

But wouldn't they need more information though? Like you could easily say in your audition "oh I dated this girl called Charlie...she was awful blah blah", but there's hundreds of thousands of other women called Charlie - surely they'd need her surname, as well as other information such as contact details etc and why would anybody mention all that when discussing their ex during the auditions apart from the first name of that person?

bots 09-06-2016 11:14 PM

there is one thing we know about BB contestants. They like talking about themselves, themselves, themselves. Who on earth mentions ex's BY NAME :joker:

Braden 09-06-2016 11:15 PM

It's Channel 5 so not really :p

I actually like how it's playing out because the housemates in The Other House are doing a good job and are coming across quite entertaining and fun to watch.

I guess they could have used their family members to contact the exs. I'm sure all HMs give like there parents contact or a close friend incase anything serious happened.

On the application it asks for links to your social media and that is most likely how they've done it.

I don't think the both of them applied. I think Jason did and then they asked Charlie if she'd like to apply like they've done to a lot of people.

That sounds plausible - although I wonder if C5 are that smart.

But then doesn't that bring into question about how recent all these break-ups were? (I think - Idk how long Charlie and Jason have been broken up for) but all these people seemed like they only split up like a month or so ago. Auditions for BB were back in January/February.

Jason. 09-06-2016 11:24 PM

I'm sorry but C5 need to release a lengthy statement about this like they did after Helen won!

Will. 09-06-2016 11:24 PM

I'm sure I heard someone say they have been very clever about doing this all with the relatives, it might have been Emma.

Samm 09-06-2016 11:25 PM

Nah, I think people are just thinking too much into it

It was Rylan but I'd think it would be pretty easy to do. Most people put everything on social media.

Jason auditions. They ask him about his past relationships and his recent one. He says his ex was a nightmare. They find him on Facebook and see that his last ex was Charlie. They call her for an audition and she says Jason was a nightmare.

That's just one theory but it's pretty simple

If you believe things like that which come out from Emma's mouth, then you'll believe anything. Who's the person who's been bigging up every crap twist they've done in the past two years? Obviously she's not going to say they've done a crap job

yeah I guess

ThriceShy 09-06-2016 11:39 PM

The really sad thing about all this is that the target demographic (i.e. 15 year old girls on council estates with purple velour tracksuits and reconditioned iphones from argos) will lap all this up and not notice anything suspicious.

jyunga 09-06-2016 11:42 PM

They did it for BB8 in the US. It's really not hard to find people that are related/exes. They probably recruit a lot rather the just doing auditions.

BB4fan 09-06-2016 11:42 PM

It does seem odd. It seems almost scripted and an act.

This isn't Eastenders people its big brother.

_Tom_ 10-06-2016 03:00 AM

Yeah I agree it's all very strange and far too convenient. Also - the HMs didn't even question why there were blank spaces on the HM photo wall?

Surely the housemates get the call that they've become Big Brother housemates about a 4/5 weeks prior to the launch (sometimes even longer), so they hadn't even fallen out when they found out they were housemates unless C5 recruited them last minute or something.

Am I overthinking this? :worry:

No I don't think you are overthinking this. The trouble with BB and their infantile production crew is that they seem to treat us, the public, as not having one brain cell between us.

Lwize 10-06-2016 05:31 AM

A reality show that might not be real? Not possible.

Clootie Dumpling 10-06-2016 06:17 AM

What infuriates me about this is that it distracts me from just getting into enjoying the show.

It's like watching a group of dancers who are all dressed the same, except for one who isn't wearing any trousers, but there's no good explanation why.

Instead of enjoying the dance, you just keep thinking, "why has he got a bare arse?"

Yep and it's been like this for a few years, Ryan was a plant on the X and I think he is a plant in this

TomC 10-06-2016 07:01 AM

Last night made me realize how ridiculous this twist is. As you say, this is really far-fetched. I don't think it's set up tbh, but the fact it looks like it is is really annoying and offputting.

In addition, I'm not enjoying the House Divide. I just want them all to be integrated, and I'm sick of the bitching and plotting from the others. I want this twist to be over asap, I dont really care how much effort was put into the Other house tbh :joker:
