MTVN 10-07-2016 12:51 AM

Very sad as he was practising what is seen as an art in Spain and something that is deeply woven into their history and culture, of course no one in the UK would understand just as many in other countries find it incomprehensible that rural communities still place a lot of importance on fox hunting here

They shouldn't do it then.

Cherie 10-07-2016 07:44 AM

Barbaric sport that has no place in 2016, many Spanish people no longer support it, awful for the guy and his family though

some do not like it.

Buts its like Boxing with no Gloves

hijaxers 10-07-2016 09:08 AM

This is not sport and how this disgusting spectacle is even allowed to be shown on tv is beyond me. It should be completely banned and f uck tradition.

Crimson Dynamo 10-07-2016 09:26 AM

Fox hunting does not often result in a death and at least the fox has a chance.

There is little to compare

Livia 10-07-2016 09:27 AM

Good.

jaxie 10-07-2016 12:15 PM

Loss of life is never a good thing but this is a cruel and barbaric sport where bulls are goaded and abused and cruelly put to death. Anyone getting in a ring to do that needs to get a clue. It's really time Spain put this to rest, it's not the kind of 'sport' that really belongs in a modern, civilised country.

Fox hunting is also a vile and cruel 'sport' that has no place in a modern, civilised country.

kirklancaster 10-07-2016 12:20 PM

Yes - It is still a tragedy for the Matador and hs family. I still can't help wishing though that, just sometimes, some of the foxes had the power to turn the tables on their human tormenters.

No its called their Culture

Livia 10-07-2016 12:26 PM

These people know what they're doing. They provoke and torture an animal almost to madness so they should expect it to turn on them once in a while. So forgive me if I don't weep too many tears for them. Or their family.

i am sure a few chickens would not agree

I feel for the family of this person (his wife, parents, any kids he had etc) and I get that they see it as some sort of "art", but if you're going to play with fire then you're going to get burned. Another "tradition" which is simply mankind being cruel.

They'de be ok if humans built them adequate shelters.:hehe:

AnnieK 10-07-2016 09:01 PM

I read that as well as the bull who killed him being put to death, they will also kill it's mother to eradicate the Bulls bloodline. Another "tradition". Awful waste of 3 lives

MTVN 10-07-2016 10:22 PM

Its my understanding that bulls killed in the ring are always used for their meat afterwards. And those bulls that are used are seen as worthy adversaries so that they are often treated much better in their lives than those cattle who are bred purely for food

I absolutely agree that this is one of the risks involved in participating in bullfighting but to actually be pleased about the loss of a human life? That's another matter

Dollface 10-07-2016 10:25 PM

Good, it's about time the bulls got some revenge. Shame it hasn't happened to more "matadors" tbh.

:laugh:I'm not going to say that this is a cheep remark, or cry fowl play, but Foxes are obeying hundreds of thousands of years of genetic instinct when they kill chickens; Matadors and Picadors are obeying nothing more than the abhorrent man made rules of an evil and needless 'sport' for man's gratification.
