I know what you mean, but its more a powerful emotional thing.

I reckon spine tingling requires something a bit more positive and inspiring.

(Certainly not some of the other c.r.a.p thats been suggested.)
I see what you're saying. I just watched it again. That vid is so powerful, especially the bit where June starts crying. It's just too much.

The Rufus Wainwright version of Hallejulah is the one used in the film Shrek is'nt it? .. thats on BBC1 2nite!
Do you really prefer that version to the Jeff Buckley version.

What about Hurt by Johnny Cash. Listening to that and watching the video makes me blub every time. In fact, I'm starting to fill up.
I actually prefer the Nine Inch Nails version of hurt  But not many people do.

Siouxsie 10-02-2007 03:49 PM

Trent Reznor has had a funny reaction to the song and even he is now admitting that the Cash version is probably more powerful than his version.

I like them both but when Johnny sings that song and I watch that video.....it gets to me every time.

I reckon its a good song, taken by Cash and performed to its maximum capability with the legacy to back it up.

Along with the video, Cash makes it great.

Ok im gonna name some stuff for anyone who wants to experiment and some mainstrean stuff,i love these songs

Sugar Water by Cibo Matto (its more alternative kinda music with a excellent base)

Addictive by Truth Hurts (an RnB/Indian style song, very sexy and cool but will more than likely give a tingle sensation somewhere else lol)

Inner Universe-Yoko Kanno (Beautiful song,no words tho,its also pretty obsure, its an ambient kinda song)

Indian Flute-Timbaland & Magoo (another sexy Indian/hip-hop song)

Chelsea by Stefy (electro po,think no doubt meets pink meets goldfrap)

You are not alone-michael jackson (Classic Michael)

The one i gave me heart too-aaliyah (Beautiful sad song)

i still believe-mariah carey (another beauty, with wonderful vocals by mz carey)

Blue Monday-New Order (Just a Bangin tune)

Brainbug-Paul Oakenfold (cool atmoshperic dance/trance tune)

Say It Right-Nelly Furtado (cool song)

Just Jacks albumis worth a listen, reallylike it.

Confusion-New Order (sexy, adrenaline driven dance song)

Walk me home-Mandy Moore (ok im not drunk,i think its a beautiful song)

Enjoy The Silence-Depeche Mode (Love it)

Bitch-Dave Mccullen (Cool dance song)

Closer-Nine inch nails (Harder but very cool)

Human-The human league (Cool slow 80's track)

Children (Dreams version)-Cool atmospheric dance song)

Ugly-Bubba Sparxx (ok im not a big rap fan,but the bango and missy elliot samples kill me in this song, tiz cool)

Touch Me-Angel City (sexy dance tune)

Its magic-Girls aloud (its actually a nicola solo and its brilliant electro pop and her voice is brilliant)

theres loads more,i could go on all day lol.

ps.I only did this for a bit of fun, please dont attack me if you think some of the stuff i put is shite. K :tongue:

bonnie43uk 10-02-2007 09:20 PM

cheers 4 that list psylocke .. i will log them all down and go thru them tomorrow afternoon ( i know some of them). Its wierd that everybody has a different take on what songs have that "spine tingle" factor. I have a very similar taste to my brother, but some of the stuff he likes leaves me cold. Thanks everyone for posting your fave tracks on here.. It's opened my eyes to quite a few artists i hadn't heard before.

here's another track that floats my boat .. try and download " The winner is" by Mycheal Danna ( taken from the film "Little miss sunshine") .. very uplifting

J.C. 10-02-2007 10:32 PM

Holes--Mercury Rev
Nature is the law--Richard Ashcroft
Creep--Radiohead
Down--Suede
Comfortably numb--Pink Floyd

Edit: If by spine tingling you mean uplifting, bright and breezy
then I`d probably do a slightly different list as one or two of the above are more heavy,or chilled.
For a car journey, I would probably go more with something
like:
Runaway Train--Soul Asylum.
