...it's one of the few series that I'm not sure that I'm going to stick with, Cherie...

He has his place certainly for me, I agree he makes it less boring.

I guess without him we would likely only have Lewis and Marnie under a duvet most nights in the highlights.
Or worse,Ricky, hardly doing anything at all.

A good number of housemates do lots of things to get attention and airtime in all BB series,it is not their fault that BB zoom in on that and fill the highlights with what most of those then do.

Remember,BB record everything every day,the highlights are what BB themselves deem to be the very best from the housemates there to put forward to the viewing public.
The housemates cannot say at all, don't show this or that.

Liam- 07-08-2016 08:15 AM

People said BB17 would be boring without Marco and look what happened, the walking sti incubator left and the series got so much better, loud obnoxious characters aren't the be all and end all of the show, if Bear left it would give other people the opportunity to come out of their shell and shine, the sooner Bear goes, the sooner we get more interesting characters and dynamics come to the forefront, he needs gone.

.

Firstly, how can you say Ricky would be doing nothing at all- you cannot know that when, as you yourself correctly say that 'a good number of housemates do lots of things to get attention and airtime' and 'BB zoom in on that and fill the highlights with what most of those then do'.

You are correct in the comments I have quoted, but that is exactly why we don't know what other housemates are doing. They are all doing something but we are just not getting the opportunity to see it because of the attention seeking few, and because, unfortunately, BB are choosing to focus on them instead.

Liam's post which follows yours sums up the benefits of losing attention seeking characters by highlighting what happened each time one of them went in this year's civilian BB.

Ricky is coming across as an intelligent, sensitive and considerate person to me, particularly on the live feed, so I'm quite liking him and would be happy to see more of him. From what I've seen I could understand the potential he has to win. Aren't these exactly the same qualities that you liked in Jason in civilian BB, and what made you champion him so strongly?

Can I just ask what it is you are seeing as fake, as I'm not sure if I've missed something?

hot2go 07-08-2016 08:52 AM

Bear is one of the most memorable and talked about housemates of all time ...add to that mix the Biggins disaster and this will prob be considered one of the most memorable and talked about CBBs too.

His type bore me TBH .... He's doing what Aubrey does but keeping the big blue eyed boy routine at same time ...not a very successful combination usually...Bear said in first two days he thinks Ricky is too nice and I think he was right ... If everyone likes you then you're doing something wrong.

Eastenders probably Chuff.
I do think he could win this on the strength of that.

Don't get me wrong I also quite like him and did in Eastenders when I watched it.
As a housemate however, even when he is on I cannot think of a single thing he has done that is of any note.

Even last night when dancing with Katie in the stockroom,I was concentrating more on her just to see if she remembered the words of the song they were singing.

I want to see more of Bear nicer side. The one we only see on live feed.

I'm just bored of him.

I agree with you. He isn't funny 'haha'...people are the butt of his jokes. I love a wind up but he takes it to a different level. If people don't find his 'jokes' funny he starts getting personal and intimidating and it's no longer a joke.
People that find that funny I would love to see them as the butt of one of his jokes...it's not funny to watch and it wouldn't be funny being his 'victim'.
He is a bully and he is far from funny.

The only 'nice' side seen on LF was when he had calmed down from being nominated and Saira was feeding his ego for an hour.
There really is nothing nice about him so you may have a long wait Vanessa :wavey:

But how does that make him fake? :conf3: This just strikes me as someone who isn't interested in confrontation or inflaming what is already an uncomfortable and quite volatile situation for everyone. That doesn't make him fake.

And is this any different than Bear clearly stating his hatred of Aubrey in the diary room and then going into the house and pretending all is fine and being friendly. Surely that is much more sneaky?  There is, therefore, an irony in your comments.

By following your theory, Bear should have gone back in and had it out with Aubrey there and then- however, he chose not to, so I am guessing this also makes him fake?

Many housemates choose to share certain thoughts and opinions only in the diary room, either as an outlet for their emotions or to reveal something to BB or the viewers- isn't that the whole point of the diary room?

I am still not seeing any convincing evidence that Ricky is fake.
