he's not perfect. he's smoked weed in the past. big deal  his biggest let down was not pulling aubrey up sharply on her spitting in bear's food. if he'd had done that, he would be leading the ratings now.

The reason he didn't pull Aubrey up is because he's a pussy. Terrified of offending anyone or stepping on toes.

Cleaning up after the yobs? Doing things for others? Grade A game playing. The guy is sly and creepy as it gets

You want to watch a house full of people laughing and joking and NO DRAMA? Jesus, mary and joseph :conf:

clearly - at my age and things i've been through in life, watching faked tv drama by the likes of these dicks isn't entertaining to me.

i enjoy watching the interactions between different personalities; i like seeing how people adapt to fill social roles; i like to have my own first impressions of hms as they go into the house challenged - it's good for me to see someone i thought 'damn, they're horrible' about turn out to be someone i can actually like where they shed the dire tv personas and be themselves; and i like to laugh WITH people, not at them.

i do NOT like watching ugliness, confrontations for the sake of disruption, bitching, conniving, upset housemates, showmances, people being used by others for 'revenge' or in any bad way, shouting, aggression, yobbish or dangerous behaviour.... so if they're reasons why you watch BB then yeah, we do watch it for different reasons.

Very well put Jan. I agree with everything you say there.

or maybe he thought it wasn't his business. whatever his reasons, it made me think less of him.

don't you know any decent people in real life? :hehe:

Ricky will very likely win and deservedly so from what i have seen so far.

Real life is one thing, a TV show where the objective is to ENTERTAIN is quite another. Of course Ricky is a more decent person than Bear, but my word is he dull to watch

Another thing to consider - as ugly as Bear's personality is, at least he's being himself.

Ricky on the other hand is one of the faker contestants in the house. No one is that Neutral and arse-kissy in real life

That Calum shaming :nono:

From what i have seen of Ricky on BOTS, he is very much being himself.

Also, if you think Bear is being himself then you are sadly mistaken, he is a reality star, he has a script to adhere to.

Hmm. Assuming that your reasons for watching something are "better" than anyone else's for any reason isn't particularly wise, in my opinion, but then intimating that you've "been through more" in life than anyone else is straight up foolish so at least you're consistent.

I never get why people still assume a series will die if 1 housemate leaves because that rarely ever happens.

Spot on :clap1:

i haven't made that assumption - that's what you've decided to take from my post. i'm hardly a naif and understand how tv works and how different people enjoy different things. my pointing out the things i prefer to see in BB is simply that, no agenda.

it's also a reach on your part to infer i'm implying others haven't been through as much as i have - a simple statement saying because of my own experiences i prefer to watch BB because of a/b/c is not the equivalent of what you are trying to make of it.

so now i'm foolish? get over yerself, numpty lad

don't you think, though, that it's possible people will all start doing more and beiing more entertaining once the loud mouth's out of the picture? happens all the time in social groups.

The implication being that it's only entertaining to "shallow" young people who "haven't been through what you've been through in life". Don't try to act like the original post wasn't loaded, ffs, at least have the balls to own your opinions if you still hold them, or openly retract them if you don't.

Being more easy to tolerate or being just a nice guy is not why I watch BB....if I wanted nice guys who avoid any conflict and have no opinions I'd watch Songs of Praise. This is Big Brother....you can be a nice guy like Andy but still provide everything we want from a housemate...you can be an annoying prick like Bear and still provide entertainment....but Ricky challenges no one, has no opinions , tries to be everyone's friend and says and does nothing of any consequence, good or bad.
Is being just a nice guy good enough ....personally I find it arrogant and would be really disappointed if I'd switched on to watch a celebrity I like and end up with one behaving like Ricky.
When we had a nice guy in the summer, Alex, the majority moaned about it...now we've got one like Bear and the majority moan about it. Sometimes I think there is no blue print of what people consider their ideal when it comes to male housemates.

what's with the ridiculous aggression?

i stand completely by my opinion - i stated my reasons lucidly and without ambiguity as to why I don't like certain things. that is not a reflection on others - i'm sure there are plenty of older, shallow people who love all the crap too :joker:

because of what i've been through in life refers to having lived with a real life psychopath for 18 years - i've seen more drama in those years than some may see in a lifetime and why this kind of **** on BB is boring and,can be uncomfortable viewing BUT that's NOT saying that other people haven't seen more of dramatic life events than i have. seriously, you wanna sit down with a nice cup of tea - or maybe smoke a doobie if ricky's got one spare ;)

I want Bear to wind him up, lets see if he sprouts a backbone and an opinion

we don't know he hasn't any opinions :) we only have bear and lewis saying that kind of thing from what i've seen. there's a definite possibility ricky won't air his personal views of bear to his face simply because he doesn't want to put up with what we all know would be slung his way. if bear's ousted, i think we'll see a lot more from the quieter ones, simply because the producers will give them some airtime. hopefully, they'll be doing more OR at least getting shown for the things they currently do but aren't getting shown because of them pushing bear's storyline.

bear reminds me of a massive overgrown shrub in a garden, that overshadows everything and steals all the goodness from the soil. dig it out, or cut it back to a proportional size, and the rest of the garden will bloom.
