I'll speak for myself if that's alright with you. It's been obvious to me (and many others) all along that he'd make it far on the annual "dickhead = entertainment" vote.

The ones not being honest with themselves are the ones trying to kid themselves into believing he's been some sort of underdog in regards to public support and his continued survival is am impressive, unforseen feat.

There was literally never any doubt that he would survive so it wasn't exactly "impossible". This is why I hate that CBB doesn't use VTE.
