I thought the show had got boring the last couple of series or so as it is, God forbid when it moves to ITV.

armand.kay 12-09-2016 06:22 PM

I'm not watching it on itv lol.

armand.kay 12-09-2016 06:23 PM

Putting it on a commercial channel is going to corrupt the show and it kind of ruins the innocent nature of it all.

Daniel-X 12-09-2016 06:23 PM

I bet you all can't wait for Text Santa Bake Off with Arg from TOWIE and Vogue Williams on la plus side :)

Amy Jade 12-09-2016 06:25 PM

Publicity stunt?

I guess the only upside to this is that megan mckenna will be host.

Oh yes and miss Gemma doing la extra slice on ITV2!

Firewire 12-09-2016 06:51 PM

Apparently Channel 4 have stepped in at the last minute and bought the rights

Cal. 12-09-2016 06:53 PM

Oh wow miss Channel 4 grabbing that hit show :clap1:

Braden 12-09-2016 06:54 PM

lmfao I thought the C4 thing was a joke.

Channel 4 is better than ITV though. I feel a little better about it now.

LukeB 12-09-2016 06:57 PM

At least Joey Essex's chances of appearing on GBBO have gone down

Shaun 12-09-2016 06:58 PM

Disgusting.

Withano 12-09-2016 07:00 PM

Channel 4 would turn it into some weird experiment.. Bake a cake in a deserted island or with the main ingredient being ox blood or something.

zakman440 12-09-2016 07:02 PM

Glad that Channel 4 have got it. It's still a shame that the BBC have lost it, but I think Channel 4 won't want to turn it into an overly-commercial programme. It's the best place for it to go.

He's on E4's Celebrity's Go Dating and it's been rather successful so actually it improves his chances. Sadly.

Oh I forgot about that :worry:

Greg! 12-09-2016 07:09 PM

Screaming they'll probs schedule it against BB

MB. 12-09-2016 07:13 PM

Well it's taken them six years and several series of The Jump but I guess Channel 4 have finally found (/stolen) something worthy of replacing BB

Braden 12-09-2016 07:15 PM

Hell will be raised if Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer present.

AProducer'sWetDream 12-09-2016 07:17 PM

Oh I don't mind it on Channel Four, I don't think they'll try and change it too much, but I can't see it rating nearly as well as it does on the BBC

MB. 12-09-2016 07:18 PM

Mel & Sue are still pretty Channel 4-y (I mean, it's where they started) and they haven't got much else on, so it's more Mary and Paul - actually, just more Mary tbh - that I'm worried about
