..I always apologise with these things as well because I don't eat/drink them myself so I have no concept of if I'm doing it right because it's so much about tasting yourself...especially with tea because I definitely know that the colour chart of mine doesn't match the colour chart of any other tea I've seen to compare..

Yeah, I've never been a coffee/tea drinker (I only like flavoured teas and you literally just pour the water in) and plus everyone likes it differently. A workman came to our house some years ago and I was the only person in and I offered him a drink and he said he'd like a coffee but I had to refuse it and tell him I didn't know how to make it.

Oh yes love that movie. What are the chances of someone giving us lottery tickets eh? We should rewatch to spot what we're doing wrong :amazed:

Tipping in general is a minefield. Like should you tip the barber? If a haircut is £9 then I would normally give a tenner and say don't worry about the quid but if a haircut is £7 should I then make a point of giving £8 or tell him to keep back a pound of my change? It's all very confusing. Also never sure if I should tip a taxi driver

Greg! 28-09-2016 09:35 PM

Why are you fuming just don't tip if you don't want to. Don't let a message on a card machine get you down

Amy Jade 28-09-2016 09:47 PM

I always tip, I feel so stingy when I don't. My mum is a great tipper - not long ago we were in pizza hut at the buffett and baring in mind all the girl did was seat us, bring us a glass and the bill and my mum gave her £10 I was like wtf and she says it means a lot to them and in fairness it did make the girl smile and she was really thankfull but I thought she was being OTT.

Nobody tips me in work!

I only tip if the waitress is particularly hot.If she's provided me something pretty to look at while i eat instead of having to sit looking at our lasses mug then it's made my meal more enjoyable.

If it's 7 quid you just say take 8 fs Matt

bots 29-09-2016 06:56 AM

i always wait patiently for all my change, these are not low earners struggling to make a buck. They charge a price that earns them a profit. You wouldn't say ... there is that TV for 299.99 ... lets round it up to 350, so why do it for anything else ... just because they ask you where you have been on holiday this year

Is that the done thing though, seems strange. I'm conscious of looking like I think I'm Mr Big Shot generous tipper by making a point of giving an extra pound.

Today I had a haircut for £7.50, paid a tenner and took all the change :idc:

Crimson Dynamo 29-09-2016 01:55 PM

Like Marsh I say take one for yourself, but i cut my own hair now so dont tip

Saph 29-09-2016 02:05 PM

I hate it when they have it on the card machine and you click no, then hand it back and they just look at you

:clap1:

The other side of it is that tipping originated from the upper classes tipping lower classes with a large dollop of condescension thrown in for good measure. Tipping is in fact perpetuating class division.

You are a miser.

The cheapest haircut ever and you still don't tip.

My hair costs 56 quid and I give my hairdresser the 60 :fist:
