In one corner we have peer reviewed scientific knowledge built up over the lifespan of modern science. physics, biology, chemistry etc

in the other corner we have

ding ding, round one

Marsh. 16-10-2016 03:53 PM

Yeah, science, which holds the answer to anything and everything in 2016.

Oh wait....

They don't even know everything there is to know about the human body yet, let alone the universe.

I haven't either but I also don't have such a ridiculous level of arrogance that I feel qualified to tell others what they have and haven't seen. :)

Well the "ghost" is seen was just like most "ghosts" look like, I was sat in the bath and i could see a small boy spirt stood in the doorway of one of the room, So i **** myself got out of the bath and ran downstairs but no one believed me.

I haven't claimed to have ever seen one or know what one would be so it's pretty useless asking me.

:clap2: Science is constantly developing as we are, as is our understanding of things. There's aspects within science now that historically we would have had no concept of as human beings, who's to say the same won't be true of the future? Unless you think we're the ultimate intelligent evolved species that is possible within the universe? There's a lot that our brains can't even begin to comprehend so nothing can be dismissed outright.
I don't personally believe in ghosts, and noone can prove that they exist, but that still doesn't mean they don't.

Bore off LT.

LT. perhaps instead of demanding proof for people's opinions, you should provide some evidence for your own opinion that you believe to be fact.

perhaps some one could say what a ghost is and how it works?

because I am pretty sure that no one has the slightest clue apart from some horror film ideas or from reading harry potter/other similar books

or your short answer would be onus probandi

LT does make a valid point. What is a ghost. Is it something barely visible out the corner of ones eye, is it something fully formed that could be mistaken for a living being, is it an invisible voice, a whisper in the wind, some creaking of some wooden eaves in the roof. To have seen/heard a ghost, you would need to be able to verify it was a ghost and not something else, and part of that verification requires what a ghost is to be defined.

My brother claimed to have seen and described a vision of an elderly lady in an old house he bought in Devon. His description matched the former resident who passed away in the house before he bought it. His description of her was exactly as her son described and even down to the clothing she wore. Previously sounds of a ball bouncing on floorboards were heard on several occasions despite the house being fully carpeted.
Years later I stayed at my girlfriends house and slept downstairs with two other girlfriends after a girls night in. Two of us were awoken by a similar sound of a bouncing ball on hard flooring. The next day I asked her if her house was haunted and she told me they believed it was with several occurrences of weird activity in her young sons room. A few years later she put the house on the market...a photo taken of the house by the estate agent showed a young child face clearly visible at her bedroom window...

So yes...I believe in them.

I do and I believe I saw a ghost while camping at Ewloe Castle in Wepre Woods.

Basically me and a few friends asked to stay in one of their caravans which was parked on the drive. We snuck off with a few others and camped in the castle grounds. It was pitch black when we arrived but we set up 2 tents, one for the girls and one for the boys.

I dont know what time it was but my friend woke me and the other girls up to say she could hear somebody walking around outside, we freaked out and rang the boys but they never answered so we decided to get out the tent and by a grate in the ground there was somebody standing looking away from us, it looked like a woman with her hair in a bun, we literally darted back into the tent and huddled together and sat there until we heard the boys talking - none of them claimed to have left the tent and the person had a long skirt on and after looking online we found out about a woman called Nora having an illegitimate baby and throwing it from a spire in the castle before drowning herself.

I believe we saw her ghost, even my mum has said we were imagining it because we were scaring each other and stuff but me and the other girl (Rachel) still to this day both maintain we saw that woman.

Amy Jade 16-10-2016 10:33 PM

Nobody believed us even the boys but yeah, we obviously have no proof but I saw somebody up there and who is going to be wandering around the woods in the pitch black?

Crimson Dynamo 16-10-2016 10:41 PM

I would personally say a 'ghost' is a residual energy, that's how I would describe it anyway, I'm not talking about believing in spooky ghosts that float about like a fart in a trance make frightening noises etc but i've always believed in residual energies

Ewloe/Wepre Woods isn't too far from me and it's NOTORIOUS for being haunted by Nora the Nun, she's been seen so many times by people over the years. Every sighting of her has been by the waterfall.
