I didn't know Little Shop Of Horrors was a remake :flutter:
Delete the Psycho remake though! :oh: |

Night of the Living Dead remake is good. I prefer it to the original, although I love both.

The Hills Have Eyes (although I've yet to see the original)

As an experiment it's fascinating to watch, but as a film in it's own right... |
The Blob 1988 is far better than the original.
Piranha 3D I find way more entertaining than the baffling original with the terrible CGI. I think The Crazies 2010 is better than the original too, infact its a massive step up. |
I don't mind the Halloween remake. Although it's like two hours long and the first hour is just about Michael's backstory which drags. Like we get it, he's a ****ed up child, the original summed that up in the first 5 minutes, no need to spend a whole hour dwelling on it.

Hairspray tbh

Yeah, the Johnny Depp Chocolate Factory movie was far better than the Gene Wilder one.
Although, obviously both films had very different goals with style etc, Depp's is more in keeping with the book imo. |

...wasn't I Am Legend a remake of The Omega Man..?..I would say though, King Kong was a better remake for me, I liked the connection with Naomi Watts...also Cape Fear and Bram Stoker's Dracula...
|
Mother's Day (2010) is a remake only in name but I love it and the original is dire.

(All based on the 1950's book "I Am Legend") The Omega Man is a really strange film (I mean, it has vampire zombies that wear sunglasses) but I would say generally a better film than I Am Legend. I thought the first half of I Am Legend was excellent (Will Smith essentially alone in the city) but it didn't know where to go and flopped towards the end (after the introduction of the "intelligent" enemy and the other human characters, imo). Also the CGI is awful. |

I haven't really watched the remake properly. I've seen bits of it. |

Having said that, and while I really actually love both versions of the movie... the original wins for me. |

I think Johnny Depp is amazing, but Gene Wilder made that movie really special. He was fantastic and i prefer the original because of him.

Inglorious Basterds
Cape Fear The Departed |
I enjoy both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory films for different reasons.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory >>>>>>>> Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
