Predictions?

I'm thinking about 2.6m for launch

Rob! 02-01-2017 10:41 PM

It's against

BBC1: Silent Witness
BBC2: Yellowstone (no idea what that is)
ITV: Robson Crusoe: A Surprising Adventure
C4: 24 Hours in A&E

reece(: 02-01-2017 10:42 PM

2.8

Mrmattybeck 02-01-2017 11:39 PM

Competition seems easier against mainly old people shows

IMO the launch will flop and so will the series. :(

2.0M launch, drops to 1.4m on Day 2.

BigBruddah17 04-01-2017 01:31 AM

I think launch will rate quite high considering how long it was trending for, it's still trending now:dance:

iRyan 04-01-2017 01:37 AM

I have a feeling the launch rating will be a flop, but I hope I'm wrong.

BigBruddah17 04-01-2017 02:23 AM

Do we find out later today? Overnights

BigBruddah17 04-01-2017 02:26 AM

And what would count as a flop for Jan CBB?

supertv247 04-01-2017 08:50 AM

RATINGS

Celebrity Big Brother launched with 2.32 million viewers last night, down 500k on last January and 1 million down on 2015 and down on the summer CBB launch of 2.36m.

Previous January launches:
2.8m
3.3m
3.4m
3.5m
3.5m

awhael 04-01-2017 08:56 AM

Damn, and there wasn't much competition either.

Jake. 04-01-2017 08:56 AM

mess

supertv247 04-01-2017 09:01 AM

I'm hoping launch was just a fluke then, like BBUK. That had the least watched launch on C5 but the series average ended up the second highest. Wasn't this bad though

Tbf launch show ratings are becoming less relevant as the years go on

This

supertv247 04-01-2017 09:07 AM

I'm not even sure why it's dropped so much?
Because launches are nothing special these days?
Because CBB is over?
Because Bear and the manipulation ruined it for People?
Because the GP have absolutely no interest in All Stars?
Or because the leaked lineup was genuinely just rubbish?

Huh..
officials will probably be up yet again though so could end up averaging around 2.8 across the series like last year.

Greg! 04-01-2017 09:10 AM

Isn't that still like 3x what any other channel 5 show gets tho. Hopefully it holds up and doesn't flop on the first highlights

sampvt 04-01-2017 09:12 AM

Loads avoided it because Speidi was brought back. It makes the show a scripted mess.

BigBruddah17 04-01-2017 10:40 AM

I think +1 should bring it up by alot actually

Rob! 04-01-2017 11:42 AM

That was with +1. It was 2.14m without it :umm2:

It's not great by any means but it was still 2nd in the slot last night.

Denver 04-01-2017 11:50 AM

People dont watch live TV anymore

Sorry I meant officials but yeah it's not looking good :umm2:

Crimson Dynamo 04-01-2017 12:32 PM

the most watched tv show over Christmas had the lowest audience of any most watched Christmas shows ever

*mazedsalv** 04-01-2017 01:46 PM

It's poor being down half a million. But 2.32m is still fantastic for C5. Not for Winter CBB, but I knew it would be damaged after the previous CBB.

It all depends on it's retention now. It can fall or it can stay incredibly stable (something the likes of CBB13/15 and BB17 did), so you never know.

I'm predicting 1.7m tonight. We won't know the real success until the officials I guess. Less and less people are watching TV live now, and i remember the last couple of BB series were gaining around 700k on timeshift, so you can never say it's doing badly.

I don't wantto defend ratings all the time but I agree.

Like I said, BB used to gain only 200k on timsehift back in C4 days, nowadays it's been 500k-600k, Saturday episodes last year were timeshifting almost 1m!

IMO last nights launch was around 2.8m officially.
