Banning the burqua is a personal invasion of privacy for every woman who has made a personal choice to wear it. Popular press ('godblessem) have ensured that most of us none Muslims wrongly believe that its only the women who are being dominated by their fathers/brothers/husbands that submit to wearing it.

can you tell us why they wear it?

And most of the rest conditioned to believe it's the 'right' thing to do. Not much room for 'free' thought in there.

Most people believe that because it's true.

Agreed, we should certainly not tolerate it in this country or any other Western country and therefore not be seen as condoning it.

It always amuses me that some people conveniently cherry pick the 'rules/morals' that suit them but are relentlessly and belligerently immovable when it comes to the rights of women and other groups in their society. Control freaks the lot of them.

'Merkel said she would back a nationwide ban just months after revealing that she believed the burka was a barrier to Muslim women becoming integrated into German society.'

Hang on, if she said it was a barrier to integration then isn't banning it the next logical step? It's not a u-turn :conf:
