Neither do I. It's easily their main flagship show and despite the ratings being a fraction of what they used to be, they're still high enough for C5. I wouldn't be surprised if they renewed the contract until 2020.

Civvy BB would work well online... I reckon it'd probably get more views than on TV . Also imagine the viewing numbers if they managed to put together an "all YouTube celebs" edition...

ITV or Sky would be its best bet. ITV have shown interest before & Sky haven't yet found a returnable format since they dropped Got to Dance. Netflix is also a possibility - they've expressed interest recently in wanting to move into unscripted programming.

I don't see Channel 4 going for it at the moment - Jay Hunt's been vocal in the past about not wanting it back, plus the fact that they've just acquired one of the biggest formats on British TV.

Not here for ITV.

They'll get just get Ant & Dec or Keith Lemon to present

With 24 hour live feed no doubt, screw you Channel 5.

Firstly, I don't think C5 will drop it until it literally dies a burning death or Endemol ban them

However, if they dropped it after the current contract in 2019 I think ITV would pick up CBB (if they could/were allowed) and air it on ITV2/be. Or maybe even CBB + BBUK but for like 4 weeks each a year.
Or possibly Sky would take it and air it exactly like C5 do.... possibly even more....
Or maybe I think Endemol would take it online.

Regarding channel 4, if it got better (somehow) and ended up with growing ratings (somehow) and hit a new peak(somehow) and was then taken from Channel 5 (somehow(like bake off)) then I think C4 might consider it

Worked for BBUS this fall (Had a 24/7 feed that was rarely cut and aired a daily recap with all the recaps put into an ep for the week), although they're still doing a traditional summer season this year over the air

Ant and Dec would guarantee about five millions viewers right off the bat, not that they would go near Big Brother with a barge pole mind you

Fair point

I agree that I wouldn't be here for ITV either though, but that's only cause you only have to look at IAC to see how watered down and 'family friendly' it would become :umm2: people saying c**t uncensored at 9:40 on primetime ITV? Talking about shoving things up ya fanny? I don't think so

Love Island isn't actually too bad in terms of censorship but then that's ITV2, and idk these days - C5 to ITV2 - is that a demotion? Probably

Jay_Roberts441 08-01-2017 03:37 AM

I'd 100% LOVE Channel 5 to axe the whole Big Brother format after the current contract runs out next year. The signs that all isn't well started last year having BB17 on for only 50 days plus this "All-Star" CBB is a big warning sign that the time is nearly up, I mean if they need to bring back people now and have so many Americans over British celebs imagine what CBB22 in Summer 2018 will be like.

Would be great if Channel 5 dropped the Summer CBB in 2017 and had BB18 running for 80+ days from June 2017 then have CBB20 as their final series of CBB in January 2018, BB19 for 64-75 days from June 2018 then air a UBB2 for 4 weeks with only classic Channel 5 housemates entering to end Big Brother on Channel 5 with a return of BBUK on Channel 4 or ITV in May 2020.

I would hope if another channel does pick it up it will be channel 4. Although any other channel couldn't do worse than channel 5.

sampvt 08-01-2017 08:22 AM

Amazon maybe

sampvt 08-01-2017 08:31 AM

Give Davina the main show again, Sack Rylan and give Emma Bots, Sack the task team and employ a production team with a minimum age of 25 and revert back to the normal format. Immediately evict anyone that cries about walking or anyone that attempts to break out with no fees or Bots appearances. Scrap the CBB version as there are no real stars willing to go in and make the civilian one all about the vetting process and leave noms and evictions up to the public. Tone down the PC issues that follow BB and stop airing romances. Job done.

Totally agree..

asmwoody95 08-01-2017 07:49 PM

I can honestly see Channel 4 getting it back and relaunch a whole 'Big Brother is coming home' spin on it. Wouldn't be surprised if they got Davina back also if it moved back to Channel 4.
