Dezzy Protests are Fine so long as they are Not Violent, or Criminal. Protest away. This thread is not about Protests its about Left Wing Activists stopping Free Speech. You are Wrong Dezzy I want Left and Right on the panel at a Public Debate in the University At a University Free Speech is Essential that's a FACT |
We've heard from the students who don't want these speakers...where are the ones who do?
|
Right wing activists are the ones wanting to stop free speech

Yes Young Lady Education is Power but stay Legal. |
People have the right to say what they want
Others have the right to tell them theyre talking **** Wheres the problem? I suppose its a never ending cycle Left: You cant say that Right: Freedom of speech Left: Thats stupid Right: You cant say that Left: Freedom of speech Right: Thats stupid Etc and vice versa |
Without an actual story...I can't quite understand the point of this thread? I know in America there have been issues with certain topics being banned from being spoke about and people no platformed for having different opinions. No platforming, or protesting about someone speaking at all who has a different view to you...I don't really see that as free speech at all. Not sure that comes across right so...
Person 1 holds the view that all flowers are blue. Person 2 disagrees Person 1 is due to speak at a event about flowers. Or about anything else... Person 2 kicks up a huge fuss, goes to the organizers of said event, gets a protest ready...tries to completely stop person 1 from having a public voice. Just because person 1 holds the view that flowers are blue. Person 1 is banned from said event because of an opinion that differs with person 2. I do not think this is person 2 exercising their own right to free speech at all. They are free to tell person 1 that their opinion is ridiculous..argue the point and so on. But when it comes to actually stopping them speaking at all? That is wrong. And not simply exercising their own right to free speech at all tbh |
I suppose they have to do something once they are done attending both their lectures for the week?
|
Some of these messages are almost incomprehensible to me, but I can safely say if Milo Yiannopoulos was being paid to do his hateful little song and dance at my university I would protest that until I was blue in the face. Differing views are necessary for constructive conversation and progress, but just having dissenting opinions doesn't give you the right to a soapbox.

A Fresh Link for Dezzy when he gets time . A Colleague just sent me. [More than nine in 10 UK universities are restrictive of free speech, according to a new report that raises concerns over the issue of censorship on campuses. Analysis by Spiked magazine, supported by the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, suggested campus censorship had increased steadily over the past three years – with a growing number of institutions actively clamping down on ideas, literature and guest speakers that are not in keeping with their own values. The Free Speech University Rankings (FSUR), drawn from examining the policies and bans of 115 universities and students’ unions, found almost two thirds (63.5 per cent) were “severely” restrictive of free speech, with more than 30 per cent given an “amber” warning.] https://static.independent.co.uk/s3f...r-tatchell.jpg |

Personally I would say the 'free speech' decline came in just as the hate laws became legislation, what do you want unis full of hate clerics?
You can't have it both ways :/ |

"Unless they are ACTUALLY oppressing people's rights to their opinion then this is a nonstory from a group of people who do not understand what Freedom of Speech"
Yes I understand you Dezzy Freedom Of Speech. Info Wars com fella had it out with Andrew Neil on the BBC Daily Politics , Andrew was right of course. But it is a Legit Story I am sorry no video yet. Technical problems I thank John Oliver for a Top show last night on UK SkyAtlanticHD his HBO show is Outstanding, Dezzy, Thank you Dezzy for going through that Fresh Link but it is still the case that Left Wing Activists are not being legal. A debate in a University is good enough for Live Ch4HD TV at the same time. Now if Left Wing Protesters invade that gig they will be removed and the Left Vs Right live Debate also on live TV will carry on. I hope you can see the sense in all this Thank You for Your Time .... Dezzy. |
