If simply popping out a child made you a better, more rounded person, the care system would be defunct. If a child is going to be neglected or abused it's a good chance that the abuser will be one or both of its parents. Children who are murdered are more likely to be murdered by a parent. I know plenty of parents who are not what I would describe as "rounded" and plenty who are. Same with people who don't have kids. How about people who desperately want a child and are not able? Are they doomed to be considered slightly less than someone who's had a late-night knee trembler up against the bins which produced a child? How about women who adopt? Are they never going to be good mothers because they didn't carry them for nine months?

Like I've said before... I don't have kids, but I have three nieces, and if you want to see real maternal instincts, lay a hand on one of them and see what happens.

No all it means is that they have a higher tolerance for children, but the individual could still be a nastier individual than someone who doesn't want kids.

Only if the children you're bringing up are decent members of society. The kids I've seen around here aren't that.

It has to be the other way around, surely :joker:. "Well I thought I would become a more rounded person but sadly, I got a crap kid. Little arsehole. Didn't improve me at all!"
