how nice

Stuff like this, the reported outrageously priced giftbags and the segment where they bought tourists in for the upper classes to laugh at is exactly why I hate the Oscars.

Nicky91 02-03-2017 07:54 AM

definitely agree with this, most embarrassing oscar moment ever

Quite right Smudgie. The whole thing is a huge, cringe-worthy luvvie-fest, all patting each other on the back, talking about their "art" and imagining they're making a contribution to mankind... I love films and I think actors are at their best when they're saying words written by someone more talented and less precious.

I didn't watched the Oscars but I heard there was some "scandal" and while looking for it I found a bigger one than the envelope mix up. Apparently Casey Affleck sexually harassed two members of the film crew on some other film and settled out of court and Brie Larson refused to clap when he won the best oscar award, that was all kept very hush hush

Now then... that's a story! I didn't hear a word about that... Funny, eh?

What do you reckon? Sounds legit especially since one of his accusers quit working on the project with him because of it :/

Oh yeah. that's all much more interesting that who's shagging who.

I don't know much about Casey but I've always thought Ben Affleck was a bit... strange. Don't know why, can't put my finger on it.

I was only saying the other day after watching Manchester By The Sea that I much preferred Casey to Ben, this has changed my opinion on him though

because he settled out of court so it didn't have to be, one of the women quit her job before filming ended because of it, that's pretty telling when you're working with two big actors like him and Joaquin Phoenix, it could have been great for her career so something must have happened, don't you think?

Sexual harassment leads to all sorts....even presidency :idc:

Or they could have been lying that is why they took the money and not pressed charges

It was a sexual harassment in the work place case though not a sexual assault case so that would be dealt with through court which it was  Do you not think it's odd that one of the women quit..twice during filming? That could have been (and maybe still is) detrimental to her career

The Oscars always stages stuff, this is one of those times as they love publicity.

If they were lying and it could not be proven why would he pay them off?
