I know, my daughter paid £20 for Dan & Phil (some youtubers) book and I swear it was the biggest load of rubbish, they didn't even try to write a book, it was full of crap like how to draw cat whiskers on your face :worry: Thankfully she's come out of that phase now

Imo there is no way a big monetised Youtuber with sponsors would not know exactly what would happen if he put these views out.It has to be planned imo.Unless he is just ridiculously stupid.

You say yourself it wasn't the best source and I personally would reserve judgement based on that alone.

The quotes are there in print and on the video. It seems a bit odd to be more offended about the accusation of racism and not the obviously racist things he said

Yeah, it didn't even feel like an apology, its like, Jon, you said some really messed up **** and now you're just doubling down on it.

I think a lot of it is unfortunately him being young, not all that clever, quite defensive, and parroting the words of others. In the majority of the video it felt like he was just rattling off the opinions of other people, that he had read elsewhere. Maybe those opinions resonated with him but at the end of the day, they weren't the product of his own thought process, so he didn't really have full understanding of what he was saying and also tied himself in knots trying to debate the position.
