I want to be writing for one of the soaps - preferably Corrie so I can live in Manchester in a nice flat with a balcony :flutter:

I don't like trying to plan my life out, just see what happens

Nope, our life is one big holiday.
We only go local, into the Yorkshire Dales and Moors, I can't travel too far due to health issues, but we love it so all is good.:cheer2:

I have quite a comprehensive plan for the future

I want to finish my history undergraduate degree with a decent grade. I then want to do a masters in Korean Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. After this, my hope is that I will be able to get the scholarship that the South Korean government offers to international students which would allow me to move to Seoul for four years to complete a PhD. I then want to spend the rest of my life working in academia, ideally at a university in Korea. If not then my next hope would be Japan or Singapore. Literally my entire life for the past six years has revolved around Asia and I love the region so much, if my plan succeeds then I'll have everything I've ever wanted.

But, if Trump starts a war with North Korea and Kim Jong Un responds by nuking Seoul then basically my entire future is over lmao.

A very clear plan - from my experience such determination and hard work pays off and I wish you all the best, although I get the feeling you won't need it.

The Trump/Korea issue has come at a particularly bad time for you but hopefully that will be resolved without interruption to your admirable goals.

I don't really know tbh, I just want to be happy.

This thread reminds me of a talk I did to some Year 7 students a while back though. I asked what their life goals were and one girl said it was to be a Big Brother Housemate. I told her she needed to get an agent first but she didn't understand when I meant.

That does sound interesting.

I've been lucky and achieved a lot so far in my career, even though I ended up in an area I didn't expect. Wedding next... and then babies, hopefully.

Niamh. 02-05-2017 02:58 PM

Travel more, I want to see the world

I'd like to move to a different country for a few years. I'm mainly considering France or Canada.

I'd like to train as a veterinary assistant but I don't know if I'll stay in it forever. I might move on to conservation in the future. Animals are very important to me.

I was actually looking for job to do for after my masters like three days ago, and stumbled upon a PhD scholarship that I liked the look of. Applications close on the 5th at midnight, and I'm planning on giving them a lil something from me. I'm not too optimistic, cos I'll probably be fighting against people that care more than me, and have worked on their proposal for a few more months than me.. but like worth a try? If that falls through I'll probably just travel for a year and apply for a wider range of places in 8 months time when applications open again

Get myself in a loveless sexless marriage. So a can fake my own death, leaving my husband as the prime suspect while I'm in Panama with my lover and accomplice... his brother!!! Well that or a career as a tv producer.

Deirdre 03-05-2017 11:05 PM

Start my masters, get a job I like in Dublin, get a nice girlfriend, start a family

I'm thinking, screenplay writer... I'd watch that.

There's a lovely looking Ukulele on Amazon for £40, I think that I'm taking it.

yes I did think of that but I'm not too good with writing dialogue etc... So I figured as a producer I can call the shots without having to do the heavy lifting :hee:

But I would rather work in entertainment rather than drama anyway.

Does he like it? I've been wanting to learn how to play an Instrument for the last couple of years, and as bizarre as it sounds when I watched Max Stone's performance of Somewhere Over The Rainbow on The X Factor made me want to go for the Ukulele.

Yes The X Factor actually did something positive for me.:joker:
