I don’t particularly like Abbot and I can’t say I didn’t enjoy her uncomfortable uttering's but then I know her to be a sharp, quick tempered and intolerant woman.

She had to give that dangerous question an answer but all she had to say was, “ We won’t be paying for it because its just money and we can issue that as debt, the same as everything else the government pays for. We need to issue more debt if we want our economy to grow."

I suspect that simple answer would of bemused and even annoyed a lot of people but it was the straight answer and the no, flip-flopping around truth.

Ahhh, if only she's said that. But she didn't.

She repeated the figures on another interview and the figures make sense, I think that all the mileage that can be gotten out 2 mins of a bad radio interview. It detracts from the catastrophic incident that occurs every time may sets foot in front of a camera.

I wish she'd been better prepared but that's by the by now.

I enjoyed the satire in that video you posted :joker:

She did get them right earlier.

She had the figures in her head, she got them muddled that's all.
She shouldn't have got them muddled and needs to be careful,as all the always perfect people who never get mixed up ever, will always just Jump on her and any other individual that dares make a mistake.

I'd advise her never to go on Dragons Den!

No,that would be inadvisable I'd agree.

Was she muddled when she said that there was "no problem with black people in Britain, the problem is white people"? What about the fact that she sent her own son to a private school while advocating state schools for the rest of us who aren't quite so equal?

If Labour won, Dianna Abbott would be in charge of the police, immigration and the security services. Heaven help us all.

I think politics and politicians of all Parties have hypocritical elements as to what they advocate for others in relation to supported policies, which are opposites to what they'd do and want for themselves.

This is a thread about her getting in an unnecessary muddle over costing figures.
Which she didn't need to as she had already given the right figures elsewhere, just also as Labour itself had already published said figures too.

I don't actually agree with Diane much on anything, then again we had a Home Secretary from 2010 to late 2016 that I never agreed with at all.
At least Abbott says what she thinks and usually sticks to it unlike another lady whose word is meaningless as to having any worth to it at all.

All politicians lie because they are human. Diane Abbott has made it into an artform. She seems to be an advocate of the 'don't do as i do, do as I say' school of politics. She was unprepared for the interview and that's unforgivable. It's her job and there's a general election in a few weeks. I remember Chloe Smith getting a savaging from Paxman... it was embarrassing, and she was rather thrown to the wolves, but she should have been prepared otherwise you look like a plank.

To think that this woman could be in charge of the security of our country makes me nervous.

As to your last point I feel like exactly the same about the woman who is currently in charge of the whole country.
That worries me far more as to all she has so far said and done, than one pathetic interview of Abbotts.

I wouldn't be that sure even if this lot get turfed out, that in a new coalition govt led by Labour that Abbott would in fact be Home Secretary anyway.

Your post is as ever a good read and you are right, now particularly she has to be well versed in all her brief for interviews
