Not that she played it in a cynical and cheap manner, based on what we did see? |
Why does she bring that up? Is that her going to do that all the time now?

There are times when there is real racism and it is right to call people up on it.
There are also times when certain people DO play the race card. People do that to try and silence their opponent or make them look as bad as possible. We all know in today's society it's a horrible thing to be 'labelled' as racist, so some people take advantage of that by labelling anyone who disagrees with them as 'racist'. It's a cheap-shot, quick-fix way to try and 'win the argument'. Happens all the time online. But 'Racist' is a serious thing to call someone and loads of people over-use that word now. The trouble with doing that is, it waters down the meaning. It is also an insult to victims of ACTUAL racism to throw the term around so casually, simply for your own gain in any old argument. That's exactly what Deborah was doing; she brought her colour into it as a way to try and unsettle, silence or smear Rebecca and therefore 'win' the argument. All Rebecca had done was say that Deborah was being aggressive WHILE Deborah WAS shouting at her AGGRESSIVELY. No colour or race was mentioned. Aggression doesn't belong to any race, it's a universal thing. And anyway, If Deborah was so concerned about some bizarre, vague, nonsensical stereotype about 'black people being aggressive' (??) then what did she think she was doing by shouting so AGGRESSIVELY in the first place? |
