Did a hear correctly on last nights highlights when the sisters said they didn't get given immunity because they were black? If that's not playing the racist card, I don't know what is.

Even if I agreed, there's a huge difference between playing the race card for yourself and being racist towards someone

Firstly, I'm pretty sure they said they were born in Nigeria and moved to London at a young age. Secondly, I can't tell what is more absurd ... suggesting the girls can't discuss racial topics and their own experiences without people getting offended ... or people saying Sue would be better than the sisters as if race is a comparison for someone's personality. No one is saying. Imagine saying Simone would've been better than Mandy to see how illogical that comparison seems.

I'm not keen on the sisters, not because of their race but because of their behaviour. Deborah just doesn't seem to do much so I find it hard to comment on her character.
Hannah has an issue with people calling her aggressive and suggests that people are therefore stereotyping due to her colour or race. However, I believe she has sometimes come across as aggressive in the way she speaks to others, and I would have said the same if the behaviour has been displayed by a white person, as I'm judging on character rather than colour. I think Hannah wants to change the stereotype regarding black girls and aggression but is, sadly, being undermined in her aim by her own actions. |
WHY ARE PEOPLE GETTING SO SHOOK AT THE MENTION OF RACE? THE SISTERS HAVE NOT CALLED ANYONE RACIST!!
All they did was talk about the biases that some people unknowingly have. How can we ever love forward on the issue of race if people get so offended the second someone mentions race. Are black people not aloud to voice their concerns now? Must the suffer in silence? I thought we moved past that a years ago but aparantly not. |

I can now think of at least 3 times she has mentioned race in the context of a disadvantage in the house |

Certain people on this forum are just chomping at the bit for any excuse to throw some lightly veiled racist comments about, especially if they can give some poor excuse as a 'reason' to make this OK. ''Well they said this so i'm allowed to be a racist prick now to counter it''. People should just worry about their own personal conduct instead of looking for any reason to justify their burning derogatory and ignorant comments. |
