POA easily the best film. Closely followed by the first two and DH-P1.

GOF, OOTP and HBP are horrible movies. But OOTP is one kf my fave books.

I haven't read the books but my favourite film was The prisoner of Azkaban. Order of the Phoenix was my least favourite

I'd say the films for the first couple were much better than the books, which is rare. It has to be Goblet of Fire though... both book and film.

I used to have them all on DVD, but I lent them to a mate of mines daughter a couple of years ago, and haven't seen them since.

It's at times like the upcoming Bank holiday weekend that you miss them most. I like a bank holiday weekend film binge.

Marsh. 16-04-2019 01:51 PM

No time to miss them, they've joined the very limited itv movie collection. They're shown more often than not.

Marsh. 16-04-2019 01:52 PM

Surprised by the love for GOF. I thought it was a terrible film.

Tony Montana 16-04-2019 01:55 PM

I've read only the first 4 books a long time ago. I can't remember which one I preferred.

For films, if I had to rank them from most to least fav:

1. Goblet of Fire
2. Chamber of Secrets
3. Deathly Hallows Part 2
4. Prisoner of Azkaban
5. Deathly Hallows part 1
6. Half Blood Prince
7. Order of the Phoenix
8. Philosophers Stone

I've seen half of them at the cinemas too :smug:

Watch the Lord Of The Rings or Star Wars Original Trilogy

Tony Montana 16-04-2019 01:58 PM

I loved how each film would always be much more darker than its predecessor

Tony Montana 16-04-2019 01:59 PM

Whose Dumbledore did y'all prefer? Michael Gambon or Richard Harris?

Marsh. 16-04-2019 02:04 PM

Harris.

Gambon was far too angry, the exact opposite of the character.

I did episodes 1 to 6 of Star Wars not so long ago.

I might do LOR again though, it's been a while since I watched those.

I still have only seen one of The Hobbit films, how many of those were made?

3 films. Although they're all disappointments compared to the LOTR tbh

Did you enjoy the Star Wars Prequels Alf?

Yes, not as good as the original trilogy, but they were watchable. I've not and have no intention of watching the more recent ones.

I agree. Harris was perfect as the kind, caring, wise old wizard. His Dumbledore was more like the early books, whilst Gambon's was more like the aggressive, dying, angry Dumbledore in the later books.

Gambon still did a fantastic job and was a good replacement.

I only really like Revenge of the Sith from the prequels.

The end sequence of GOF is gripping and the ‘darkest’ the movies ever got imo

Tony Montana 16-04-2019 02:31 PM

I loved the triwizard tournament.
