I agree. Maybe 8 years old is young enough to supervise but to expect parents to be able to control what 11/12/13/14 year olds look at online at all times at all places is unrealistic. Also worth remembering that a lot of kids are much more tech savvy than their parents and are able to view things and bypass safeguards with an ease that the parents would never think possible.

I find the idea of anyone under 12 having a mobile phone absolutely ridiculous tbh.

iPads iPods kindles you can't move without some device that will get you online, you can be the best parent in the world, you can't protect them from their friends parents ignorance or liberal views or just can't be arsed parenting

You could if there was a law making basic internet safety for children a compulsary parental/legal requirement. That sounds way more logical than this thing you're supporting. This thing you're supporting wont even work lol, itll just needlessly piss people off and make them paranoid about May watching over them with her evil lizard eyes.

There are basic things that can be done to prevent a child from viewing adult content.

Any 8 year old that purposely looks to hack into and search for pornography can't have had good parenting. :/

Teenager ok. But an 8 year old having the knowledge or desire for porn isn't normal imo. And there are things to prevent "accidentally" stumbling into it.

You can be innocently searching for something and boom there it is :nono:

I did say there are things for accidents. :nono:

And accidents in my experience lead to things akin to the page 3 of the sun which isn't going to scar anyone for life.

For hard-core porn to pop up either a) the software you're using is useless and not worth the money paid or b) someone was actively searching for it. But I don't think b would apply to the majority of 8 year olds.

The easiest thing to do is for parents to put a Porn Block on their child's Computer. Why should other people be being punished for lazy parenting?

Why should parents have to suffer for your viewing habits :hehe:

Amy Jade 18-07-2017 10:23 PM

Maybe parents could you know...monitor their childs internet time?

My mum used to check on me all the time when I used the family computer.

I'm 21 so if I was to view a Porn site my parents would have no right to tell me off, unless it was something illegal like Child Porn which would see me arrested anyway.

It's easier for parents to put a Porn Block on their child's Computer than to implement this invasive idea.

If you live at home and they pay the bills they have every right

TaylorCallum 18-07-2017 10:27 PM

As if this is actually going to work though, there will always be a way for people to find porn if they want to. Hell even Tumblr is full of it when you're not even looking for it :skull:.

If you are over 21 it won't affect you, just produce proof of age

No they really don't, what people view is up to the individual.

Or how about the parents behaving like actual parents? It sounds like the much simpler concept to me.
