Cut the budget? It already looks like a cheap plastic version of its former self.

Trust what I'm saying - the producers can only do so much. All big decisions regarding twists come from the channel. Most of the crew and producers have been working on this programme since the Channel 4 days - why would they make it the way it is? The big decisions on how the show runs come from the channel unfortunately.

Just scrap Summer CBB and have a longer civilian, it's what people want and it takes up less ****ing time.

Also, Flop or Break is tragic and the fact their renewing it for a longer series is even worse :umm2:

Put it out of its misery for the love of god

supertv247 25-08-2017 11:27 AM

Apparently Frow has stated he is not moving to channel 4

Good luck Channel 4...

bots 25-08-2017 11:28 AM

whoever is responsible for its current state is irrelevant. Frow used to be a champion of the format, and he has changed his tune completely. Those aren't the words spoken of someone that is enthusiastic about it, it's difficult to see a future for it next year let alone a contract renewal when he is at the centre of deciding its future.

I meant he's not moving, my mistake

Greg! 25-08-2017 11:29 AM

So we've been blaming endemol for the show being a bit **** but it's actually all Ben Frow's fault?

Greg! 25-08-2017 11:30 AM

God, do you know what? I hope it's axed. Channel 5 doesn't deserve it

supertv247 25-08-2017 11:31 AM

I always knew it was Channel 5's fault as it only became **** when Channel 5 took it!

Frow even said he didn't want to target 16-34's on the main C5 channel as he wants mass audience there, yet he insists on making BB out to be like Love Island and all about young showmances etc??????

Greg! 25-08-2017 11:34 AM

Omg it all makes sense now. Ok the editing was messy from 2011-2012 but at least the format was consistent and true to the original. Then Frow arrived in 2013 and that's when we started getting constant twists and messy nominations rules. It's his bloody fault

I would take the nauseating editing of 2011 all over again if it meant a longer, more consistent series where we understood what was going on.

Greg! 25-08-2017 11:40 AM

If he wants to cut the budget then don't spend thousands on getting celebs to be guests in the civillian Big Brother!!!! Silly man

This just makes me understand Frow even less then, because when he joined they added 2 hours of live feed daily to 5star?

Then in 2015 they added an hour daily after CBB and kept it for 3 series? Yet he's here saying he'd rather have no big brother and it takes up too much of his schedule?

So what is the truth?

Greg! 25-08-2017 11:41 AM

WHAT is his email address, can someone please tell me

Exactly :clap1:

The editing has actually got worse than BB12 now anyway

poppsywoppsy 25-08-2017 11:45 AM

Make or Break deserved dismal ratings. Same thing, night in and out, at least CBB has different types of situations and tasks.

As for that supposed sex expert, we fast forwarded her bit as she was so laughable whilst thinking she was so cool and informed.

It has to change drastically before we watch it again and there wasn't any revenue from the voting public either.

Amy Jade 25-08-2017 11:48 AM

BB fans are crying out for a back to basics series. Why do they insist on these terrible twists and stupid sets for one task?

They could decorate on a budget and let nominations run from tuesday to friday (to bring in revenue) and bring the tasks back to basic concepts like the box task (one of the best EVER tasks imo) and if the show still fails then yeah maybe it just has run it's course but Channel 5 need to take a long hard look at why it had lost so many viewers, they've destroyed the show almost beyond recognition now so Frow can eat ****.

reece(: 25-08-2017 12:32 PM

They wouldn't need to cut budgets if they didn't offer absurd amounts of money about like 700k to Ray J or w.e.

This! It annoys me so much that they assume expensive = better. Big Brother was great without the spinning stairs, the constant redecoration and the huge task 'arenas'. We could look past a really cheap production if the housemates were entertaining and diverse, there was a consistent format and the tasks were creative (by creative I mean, not 'Who said this about this person in the diary room?').

Some of the best Channel 4 series tasks include the cheapest and simplest ones: the box task, the no sleep task of the top of my head.

Rob! 25-08-2017 01:39 PM

To be fair to Make or Break, it started off with 500k and remained insanely consistent throughout it's whole run barely losing any viewers from start to finish, so you can kind of see why he'd like to give it another go. Especially considering that Love Island started off with very similar figures and grew like mad. Having just watched the leaders debate, he wasn't quite as desparaging about the show as his quotes would suggest when put into context about what they were talking about, because he also said that Big Brother is still their highest young viewers skew. But his own conversation should be interesting. The fact he said "I like the ratings" means he isn't washing his hands of it just yet but something needs to change.
