I'm not sure Channel 5 would be allowed to do that, because of the rules that place limits on product placement.

Quote:

There must be 'editorial justification' for a product to be placed in a programme. That means the product must have a natural fit with the storyline. The content of programmes shouldn't seem to be created or distorted, just to feature the placed products.

Programmes also can't promote placed products or give them too much prominence. So there shouldn't be any claims made about how good a placed product is, or so many references to a product that it feels like it is being promoted.

What’s the product placement? It’s just about stuff being pink

Going to look like a hot mess 2* vegas hotel.

Because the house is to be full of pink, and the company's name is Pink Casino. It's as if the sponsor was Yellow Pages and the set and house, was mostly yellow; or even if the sponsor was Coca Cola and they had made the house red - the colour associated with the brand.

Marsh. 09-12-2017 02:37 AM

Yes, but in this case they'd get away with it.

As pink is not exclusive to the pink casino brand, even though it is a large part of their brand for obvious reasons.

They'd explain it away as their "ladies" theme.

Marsh. 09-12-2017 02:38 AM

Also, there must be exceptions to the rule as Big Brother spent about a fortnight heavily promoting that Apes movie from 3 years ago.

Then a few years ago they gave housemates loads of hair products and had an advert-like montage of them all having makeovers with the products.

MICHAEL G 09-12-2017 08:44 PM

The article has gone

BBUK-Fan 09-12-2017 08:57 PM

Think it's not gonna be pink

Captain.Remy 09-12-2017 09:13 PM

If this is confirmed then it will be tacky as hell lmao
How come C5 comes out with a decent theme, great eye and STILL manages to ***** it up at the last stage?
It's like they love doing this to themselves. Even if the theme was "Back to Basics" they still would do some crazy ass stuff to make it ratchet and out of place. :skull:

Also isn’t product placement fine when the ‘P’ icon is displayed during the titles

Yeah, I forgot about that.
