Debbie McGee wears wedding ring at Strictly event

Brave is not the word for her

Debbie McGee showed off her wedding ring as she and the other Strictly Come Dancing finalists arrived for an event ahead of the show’s grand finale.

The broadcaster, 59, has previously explained that she does not wear her wedding ring – from her marriage to late magician Paul Daniels – while taking part in the show because it could be dangerous to herself and dance partner Giovanni Pernice.

She told ITV’s This Morning: “If Giovanni grabs my hand and gets me, and I haven’t got big stones, but I could scratch him or pull a finger off.”

McGee was joined by Pernice at the press conference, as well as fellow finalists , Gemma Atkinson and Joe McFadden.

Just because Alexandra & Debbie picked up the routines quicker it doesn't mean they're experts , and if you take a look at every SCD series ,more celebrities than you think have done dancing in their careers but none of them are trained ballroom or Latin dancers .

As Joe has said himself, the only dancing he did in musicals was comical.
Debbie was not only a fully trained ballet dancer but a dancer when she met Paul Daniels, Alexandra has danced all her life.
I do know the difference between ballroom dancing, ballet and any other dancing, but I also know you have to be very disciplined in ballet, as in ballroom.
I prefer it when a dancer has improved each week wins rather than a professional from the start wins.

Alexandra hasn't done professional ballroom or Latin , Joe has still done dancing which ever way you look at it and for all we know he probably went to stage school. Most actors do dance in their younger years .

Debbie yes has done ballet but this is still a new ball game for her and once again not a trained ballroom or Latin dancer .

Most of the celebs in Strictly have some fitness advantage or some dance ability but they're all still learning completely new dances for the first time :nono:.

About half the contestants this year looked like dance virgins like they've never played wii dance , let alone done a dance lesson . But the other half either have fitness advantage or some natural rythm and dance ability.

If you want a competition with compete amateurs with 2 left feet and no co-ordination then strictly would just be full of news readers and politicians :joker:.

Crimson Dynamo 14-12-2017 10:50 AM

I agree with Smudgie that pro dancers like Burke should be marked down 5 points each time as that is what they do 24/7

GoldHeart 14-12-2017 10:56 AM

More contradictions when Debbie has just been mentioned as a Ballet dancer .

None of the contestants are professional BALLROOM or LATIN dancers  . If an ex professional came back to compete as a celebrity then it would be unfair but that's not the case .

Jill Halfpenny was near enough a professional and won SCD :laugh3: people like to scrutinise certain celebs when others get let off the hook hmm interesting the inconsistency  .

And Abbey Clancy was rumoured to be a ballet dancer and still won and was praised by everyone hmm must be nice to pick and choose who's a professional and sweep other stuff under the carpet :bored: .

But NONE of the celebrities are professional BALLROOM /LATIN dancers !! . Why was it ok when Jill Halfpenny won then ?? And she looked like she had years of experience :suspect:

ugh because Jill was popular and why i don't know

Ballet really helps you for ballroom and latin dances, it certainly didn't do helen george any favors, so why does debbeh get away with this :oh:

And yet nobody seemed to care at the time :laugh2: , there's alot of celebs who have had some form of dance experience but every year only the odd 1 or 2 get criticised for it , why can't people be consistent if it's an issue then half the strictly contestants have an advantage and people should moan & complain about them all .

Why are you against Debbie ??but it was ok for Abbey Clancy to have Ballet experience?. I can't with this debate :joker:.

I wasn't, but people moan about Debbie & Alexandra and it's tiresome . They're not the only celebrities in this competition with dance and fitness ability  .

About 6 celebrities this year looked like they had ZERO experience , the others have fitness stamina and some dance & rythm .

And I think other shows like Dancing On Ice are alot more uneven and unfair , when you get celebrities who have played ice hockey in their life and people who's regularly been to ice rinks .

Then there's other celebrities who have NEVER set foot on the ice in their lives !! so hardly a level playing team :nono: , but people don't seem to care that there's people who have ice skated competing with other people who are scared of the ice as they have zero experience  .

Great hear judge Shirley, David Walliams, Cat Deeley and Sarah Cox all sing the praises of Debbie this morning to 9 million R2 listeners

They went on and on about her journey and improvement - should get her a few thousand more votes

The judges have said that ballet training is a disadvantage in a lot of the dances.
