Very poor the show most likely won’t be here next year if ratings keep declining each year

Yikes.

Rob! 03-01-2018 10:44 AM

That’s actually a lot better than I thought it would do

Denver 03-01-2018 11:10 AM

The share is great

Cal. 03-01-2018 11:26 AM

The share is fine.

supertv247 03-01-2018 11:35 AM

10% isn’t exactly fine when 3 years ago it was 16%. That’s losing over a third in just a matter of years, which is no time at all given the show started 18 years ago..

Kyleisaselenator 03-01-2018 11:36 AM

Optimistically, I'll guess an average of around 1.9 million

Eh I guess so.

Could the ratings grow on Friday?

The drop from that is going to be terrible. 1.5/1.6 ish for a January CBB oop. Hope the shares are still high.

supertv247 03-01-2018 12:00 PM

Hopefully people see Friday as a second launch and it boosts it quite considerably

RichardG 03-01-2018 12:01 PM

not good

Denver 03-01-2018 12:03 PM

People need to understand viewership as gone down and many people dont watch live tv anymore and CBB/BB are one of the shows that have a fanbase who are going to watch later on rather then live

Jodie. 03-01-2018 02:44 PM

Don’t catchup figures go higher year on year tho x

BBUK-Fan 03-01-2018 02:47 PM

I think people will watch once men enter too but I'm not sure

Jodie. 03-01-2018 02:50 PM

Also, the people that usually only tune in for the launch and not watch anymore might keep watching to see who goes in Friday, so tonight’s ratings might be quite high idk

If Jonny goes in, Love Island fans might watch just because it's somebody from Love Island

It's ok what I expected really the mirror are praising the rating.

*mazedsalv** 03-01-2018 06:46 PM

I completely understand that some people are a bit "meh" about the rating, yes, it;s lowest CBB winter launch, but l think people are forgetting how big a hill BB has had to climb since last summer. They were in a diabolical state in the summer. The civ series was under 700k few times. It ended with 900k. 2 days later, ratings doubled for CBB launch to 1.8m. The series averaged around 1.4m nightly. It ended with 1.6m. Now last night started half a million up on that final.

I get it's low for winter CBB but it's climbed a massive amount from 700k to 2.1m. Anyone expecting it to be in the higher 2s are deluded. It's like expecting X Factor to launch with 10m after it's sub 5m ratings this series orEE to miraculously reach 10m again.

With CBB it's a 'compare to last year' sort of thing. Not a 'but it got 5m s few years ago!' thing.

Speaking of launch to 1st show, last winter's series went from 2.32m to 1.92m in the one night. I wonder how much tonight will retain, i think it will drop a lot, to around 1.4m, but get around 1.7m for the men's entrance on Friday.

It will crash and burn from now on.

Can someone check the ratings' trend of BB8? Did the female-only twist get leaked before launch night?

No not that I recall I remember watching and thinking where are all the men?! Turns out bb8 then went on to be its lowest rated series at that point in time but that may have been down to the race row of Cbb5 which was only on in the January of the same year.

Yes i think we were told before launch. I recall it went from 6.2m to 3.9m oin overnights, in officials here are the first 2 weeks of BB8...

6.6m
4.3m
5.0m (Ziggy enters)
3.8m
4.0m
4.4m
4.0m
5.1m (Emily's ejection)
4.9m (Gerry and Seany enter)
2.9m
2.8m
4.2m
2.3m
2.8m
3.3m/3.3m (Liam, Jonathan, Brian and Billi enter)

So really, the more men they added, the lower ratings got.

I forgot how awful BB8's ratings were.

Those figures for the second week could pass for CBB15's.

The reason why BB8's ratings crashed so badly is because the second week was up against Britain's Got Talent nearly every night. The show never recovered from that awful scheduling.

The all-female twist technically didn't flop since the first week averaged 4.7m.

supertv247 03-01-2018 07:23 PM

If tonight stays above 1.6 then that’s good, same trend as last year... if it falls lower, that’s slightly concerning. Anything over 1.6 would be great at this point.

Tomorrow will probably get slightly more than tonight, as people will think tonight will just be a recap of what we saw last night. So I’ll say 1.6-7 for that. Then hopefully the twist on Friday will be seen as a second launch, with a whole bunch of newbies hopefully it can reach 2 million again - but that will be difficult in itself given that fridays don’t do well these days. If W&G is a huge success and gets over 2m then it may help the second show stay up
