Sometimes cosmetic surgery is incredibly benificial. Would you also cut funding for someone who wanted a breast reduction or reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy?

Because technically both are cosmetic based surgery.

My sister in law ( who i like very much ) has had breast reduction and eyelid lift on the NHS,she's more than able to pay private, it really pisses me off ,but £14.000 spent on India when its not brought her an ounce of peace, if she was happy she wouldn't be so bitter

It's honestly messed up and wrong that people do this on the NHS , especially when people who need treatment for various medical problems and illnesses are having problems getting what they need  .

I keep hearing about people needing life saving drugs because they're practically dying from a serious disease . And the treatment costs a bloody fortune!!, Why aren't those on the NHS !! :fist:. It's baffling and mind numbingly stupid !.

Yet idiots can swan into a hospital and get their boobs fixed and other cosmetic stuff all FREE !! .

The problem is that India's surgery was not based on Science but her word..

and she is a proven narcissistic liar

so go figure

Such a load of bull**** that stuff about looking through a book of 10k vaginas and picking her fave mind. The surgeons work with what they have to work with. And its not a bloody designer vagina

My mother had to go private to get a double mastectomy when she had breast cancer! The NHS wanted to take one off and rebuild and do basically a boob job. My mother said she didn't want that and there was a large chance that the cancer would come back in the remaining breast so wanted them both off to stop the issue in its tracks rather than worry for ever about it. But they wouldn't have it, preferred to do a removal, 2 fake ones and a lift. Was all so ridiculous.

I also had a friend who had a boob job on the NHS about 8 years back just because she had small boobs and convinced the doctor that she was depressed about it. Meanwhile, I was having huge issues with the size of mine on my frame at the time (its ok now that I am bigger oddly enough), back pain constantly and that, and was told no, I would have to go private. So they were happy to do enlargements for superficial reasons, but not reduce the size for proper reasons. Not sure if they just give out boobjobs willynilly now or not though

The NHS is a ****ing mess.

Yeah, have you not watched yesterdays show yet? Reckoned she looked through the 'wall of vaginas' (which Andrew thought was 'war of vaginas' and said all wars were probably over vaginas :D) and picked the one she wanted. Because..thats how it works

Surgeons can only work with whatever there..there is no book of 10,000 pictures of vaginas and a choice of which one

I have a friend (well probably more of an acquaintance) who fully transitioned MtF and she reckons the surgeons told her explicitly that the results will likely not be what she was expecting and might not even look anything like a 'vagina'..along with a bunch of risks such as the constructed clitoris may fall off and such. So as usual, India is talking utter bollocks. Also took my friends months and months to recover fully from the op, where India reckons its a quick recovery and is just like getting a tooth taken out D:

Breast reduction is usually done for medical reasons, I know a woman who had it done because she's very small and had huge boobs and a result suffered really badly with her back, her life and health has improved so much after she had it done

I too thought the 10,000 different vaginas and the stupid title of the book fake as well ,what a load of utter BS

Yes sometimes its done for this reason and thats fine, but don't by choice for a different body shape no

I wouldn't class SRS as a vanity/cosmetic procedure personally, it's done as a treatment for gender dysphoria. There are plenty of treatments done on the NHS that aren't directly life saving or that are 'less important' than cancer treatments but we try and treat as many afflictions as possible if we have the means to do so. SRS improves quality of life, helps with depression, prevents self-mutilation, and lowers suicide rates, so I think it's a good thing.

The definition of cosmetic surgery is non-essential surgery ie its purely for cosmetic reasons hence the name. Breast reduction is usually done for medical reasons, so no its not technically cosmetic based surgery even if one of the after effects is cosmetic. While mastectomy may fall under that its done because the patient has lost their breasts due to cancer, its pretty insulting to compare this to what India gloated about.
