I'm a big fan of Ann 100%

But i also thought it was fine for Dan to make that joke tonight.

It's the kind of naughty joke you hear on BB and on BOTS all the time.

Dirty jokes make the world go round. Much better to be free to make them than to live in fear of censorship all the time.

While Ann herself would of course find it crude and vulgar etc, she would NEVER dream of taking away people's rights to make crude jokes.

Defending freedom of speech means defending people's right to be offensive, even when it disgusts and offends you. That's the game.

Ann had a lot to do with the change in the group dynamics change for the better only to be sexually ridiculed by these two oafs.

I am all for humour, but mocking an old lady for a cheap laugh over her imagined sexual behaviour is not funny or warranted.

If it was your Gran?

It's not about being "fair" though is it? this isn't celebrity mastermind it's cbb.

My gran would laugh tbh because it was clearly a joke.

I thought it was hilarious as did the rest of the housemates in the room as previously said.

Ann saved Daniel ? To put Maggie up? What a hot mess :bored: . Daniel doesn't deserve to be saved from eviction. I'm glad Andrew is still up ,not that it makes a difference with his huge fanbase.

Yes the two twats and Ashley who would laugh at anything Genuwine found funny. Do you honestly think Ashley would have found it funny if it was directed at her?

As you can read, there are many who take the opposite view to yours and your nans, it wasn't necessary or decent.

If the dirty joke was general about others, then your point is correct.

But it wasn't, it was personal and aimed to humiliate Ann in front of two idiots and millions of viewers.

There is a difference.

hazyjo 19-01-2018 09:54 AM

Am I the only one who didn't take offence :hehe: It was just warped humour. I am sure Daniel will regret opening his mouth, but he just has that humour where your mouth works quicker than your brain and even though it's funny with your mates, maybe X-million watching might not find it funny.

Gusto Brunt 19-01-2018 09:56 AM

Ann has to stay and win this.

Crimson Dynamo 19-01-2018 10:01 AM

lol

she can take it

its what men joke about when they get together

Ann knows this and would not give two hoots

poppsywoppsy 19-01-2018 11:04 AM

You have seen Ann's response to Andrews attempt to draw her into waxing his backside which she did not appreciate because she said it was aimed to embarrass and humiliate her.

Therefore, it is more likely that she would feel even stronger against this slur.

Because it may not offend someone else does not mean it would not offend her.

If you look up the definition of banter, it means playful teasing between two people. This was a sleazy put down when one party was not present which was meant to humiliate. This towards an elderly lady who has standards which matter to her.

You may not agree with her politics but she reached a place in the government of this land something far greater than this foul mouth with his sewer so called jokes which demean women.

These are no snowflakes but strong women saying if you demean women with jokes like these, you face consequences. I hope they chuck him out, see how funny he finds that.

Well of course the others found it funny as it wasn't aimed at them, plus they are crass to begin with,if it involves talking about sex etc they are all having fun, get some decent convos going on and they don't want to know, pack of idiots

It seems that the general consensus floats between "don't care" and "she can take it". Let's turn it round and imagine they were talking about India... or Courtney... God forbid anyone should laugh at them. But Ann's fair game.

Ridiculous double standards.

very good point. The thing that also marks daniel down is that he knows this is being filmed so it just can't be described as banter, because guys just dont do banter in that way. He knows Ann will either see it or be told about it

I've worked with men a lot... and I have more male friends than female. This is not typical of male behaviour, I know... not real men. And it saddens me when people are condoning it.

On the first night I kind of took to Daniel. He had a lot to say about how he had made a mistake and regretted it etc. etc. It didn't take him long to show the world he actually is an arsehole completely beyond redemption.

Good point she is an old white woman so fair game for any old rubbish to be spouted about her

Having seen the fall out today in the social media and press, it seems that the consensus has now turned into outrage towards Daniel.

There are many decent people who don't feel the need to speak up unless there is something needed to be said and it is what they are now doing.

All Daniel wants is to shock and be known for his notoriety, whatever he says to the difference. All he wants, as do the other nonentities in there is to push boundaries to make him get noticed and if an elderly 70 year old women gets hurt then she is collateral damage.

Ann is a human being who values her standards, morals and religion, but she still is a woman with feelings which can be hurt by these sick remarks about her past.

Totally agree it's just a shame they chose to save Dopey Dapper and not Ann :fist:

Paula D 19-01-2018 02:58 PM

I'd love to see him thrown out by BB for that remark. I absolutely hate the thoughts of how Ann is going to feel when she sees that.

Good comedy shouldn't come from ridiculing someone. Particularly if that someone has just saved your bacon. His comments were very hurtful, no matter how thick skinned Ann may be

Not only did she save him, it was down to her that they won the task too.

Yeah it was really disrespectful to an elderly lady who he clearly knows would be disgusted if she heard

This :joker:

I'm currently watching CBB17 which is already filled with moments & comments that are 100x worse than this (which are also funny tbh lol :hehe:) but people on this forum can find that funny but take a little sexual joke as disgusting. People have a pre-conceived view on Daniel and anything and everything will tick most people here off when it's HIM doing it. All eyes on him. :eyes:

To be fair it was disrespectful, it's not like it was a clean joke I'll say that, but in the end it is still just an off-the-cuff joke that he didn't mean seriously or hurtfully and people shouldn't take so seriously & personally. It's really not that bad at all and Ann wouldn't care as long as she's not around to hear it / see it, it's what she's said herself. Plus Daniel felt bad about it afterwards but he's a joker and jokes just fly out of his mouth without a filter. Jokers gonna joke. :joker:

Withano 19-01-2018 04:37 PM

Daniel made a career doing that, I wasnt expecting anything less
