I think the board needs to hire some more moderators. On top of the ones we already have.

Mark 18-05-2007 08:54 PM

Course I would.

I'd take my time to slowly clear up the mess that is turning into the BB8 Forum.

Mrluvaluva 18-05-2007 09:05 PM

How so?

Do you know how long that would take? I did some cleaning up of threads last year. Just a couple of days worth and it took in the region of 3 to 4 hours. We are not talking about a few days here but a few weeks or months to go through. It would take ages and while you are cleaning it all up you will still have to read and check all new posts when you have finished.

I don't mean all the old threads that nobody goes to.
I mean new ones that are posted with no thought.

nodisharmony 18-05-2007 09:19 PM

I notice that there are moderators who are more masterful and sort out arguments and create an orderly forum:thumbs:

Then, there are moderators who are more involved with a friendly debate/chat and just keep an eye on things and occasionally get involved in keeping order, but not so much.

The balance works:thumbs:

But during BB8 I would imagine that is more about the volume of posters to the forum within one day!

New Threads being made like mad:bouncy:

Threads with loads of pages...

Razmataz 18-05-2007 09:22 PM

I just think unlike last year. I will be on all the time, I'll be keeping more eyes locked than ever. I thought the forum could do with a subjective point of view.

Most of the threads, to use language normally aquianted with the mouth of our dear Linda. They're 'Bollocks'

lily. 18-05-2007 09:28 PM

Aye, well, my coat is hanging on a shoogly nail in TiBB Ryan, so I have to be careful of my "words" nowadays..

Red Moon 18-05-2007 09:29 PM

I think it is called freedom of speech. People can start threads about what they like. If they stay on topic and people post to them then they are valid threads. The ones that people think are rubbish just disappear.

A lot of threads could be merged but to know if a thread already exists you have to have a lot of knowledge of what has gone before. That can only be gained by being on for hours at a time. That is not possible for all the moderators and not desirable. We all have other lives to lead.

Fair point Red.

Moving away from pointless threads.

How would you decide new mods...an apprentice style turn out.
