The show is a sinking ship and I think even if it went back to basics it still wouldn't get good ratings. I think having it on Netflix would give the show new life and would spark interest.

I do think C4 should take it back though

Channel 4 should just buy back the rights, keep it off the air till the 20th Anniversary and do one final send-off.

If they're gonna buy it then at least do more than a final send off.

Netflix should have it. Put all of the past series on and then change BBUK to BBUS format and air it on Netflix as a Netflix Original.

Not sure how Netflix would do it, as live shows is quite against their strict agenda (afaik the same happens with sports broadcasts). They do have the Japanese "Terrace House", which is miles apart from BB but somewhat around the same theme - so it more likely they'll do it rather than BB. Though Netflix does mean LF and making BB popular again (only they can do it).

I believe C4 are reconsidering abandoning BB and of course they would be a great option. They've never actually recovered since 2010.

Today, Netflix made a deal with Sky so I’m thinking they could use Sky for live shows?

glibberglobber 24-07-2018 09:25 PM

Cringe @Netflix owning BB

I'm guessing if it were to happen, they'd change the format to the US one where they wouldn't necessarily need live shows for it to work.

They could release a new ep everyday and on Fridays have a live stream, could be an experiment for them

Channel 4 honestly seem to be having an existential crisis, they don’t know if they should just be the bake off channel or try and return to form to how they used to be with them brining back stuff like Crystal Maze and the format of friday nights that they used to do so well with stuff like late night comedy talk shows (I.e. the big narsty show). Seems like they’re trying to get back to early-mid noughties channel 4 so I would never say never about them potentially picking it up even if it is unlikely.

Please not Netflix. Removing the live elements of Big Brother would genuinely ruin the show

The intros would be 2 minutes long

girl netflix skips that automatically once you've watched one ep

I think the rights to the series go to whoever owns the show because everytime I try and watch something from a c4 series c5 clocks me for copywriter.

urgh imagine if they put BB6 on their in hq :flutter:

Barry. 02-08-2018 05:36 PM

I'm ready for Netflix to take it.

Morgan. 02-08-2018 05:55 PM

In the case of Netflix not accepting, I think YouTube Red (or is it premium now :suspect:) would be a good fit. It's subscription based so they'll have a budget, and they have capability for livestreaming.

Exactly what I'm thinking, netflix sounds so unrealistic, the show needs a break.

armand.kay 02-08-2018 06:26 PM

Maybe they've just agreed to put all/some of the old seasons on netflix just to spark up interest again until it gets picked up again in a few years

ImBatman 06-08-2018 10:57 PM

if it goes to netflix i think we could see a change in format...although i love bbus i wonder how fans of the original format will take it

Jase. 06-08-2018 11:01 PM

lol Netflix just isn't going to happen!

Marsh. 06-08-2018 11:17 PM

Netflix better not be dropping Kimmy and picking up this garbage.

Nicky91 07-08-2018 10:36 AM

it's good to have dreams, even those

JoshBB 07-08-2018 12:36 PM

it'd be a real shame if it adopted the BBUS format. The UK format is (one of) the only BB's in the world to focus on something other than the strategic side of noms etc, and it'd suck to lose that variety.
