How?... How could all those passengers listen to that poor creature cry and do nothing?...

Is trying not to see this dog as a metaphor right now, with all that's going on in the world its things like this that for me cement how far we're ****ing regressing.

I would've walked off the plane and demanded to see that policy in writing while on the phone with customer service and taking names... there would be words

I only flew with a pet once. It was with my cat before I had my dogs and was moving bac to Houston and didn't want to put her through a long car ride. She stayed under the seat in front of me and went everywhere with me including into the bathroom (that was amusing)... no way would I have let her out of my eyesight... I wouldn't board my dogs or them now... there's obviously a lack of sympathy when it comes to pets... much less to other human beings. Unfortunately the airlines have lost customer service... sadly it's like you're cattle being shuffled around half the time. A lot of people including myself who used to love to fly now loathe it...

On the plus side, I've always gotten a small alcoholic beverage or hot black tea when flying Southwest and I've never been charged for it. So the small things I guess...

A witness said that a flight attendant had ordered the pet owner to put the dog in the compartment before the plane took off.
So, for take off. They always demand everything to be stored away for take off and for landing. So why did nobody check on, or take the dog out once during the flight itself? :conf:

Also, the dog was barking like crazy as the plane took off and no one thought it odd that the dog remained silent for the rest of the flight?

They do. They just buy a new one every week and pretend it's the same one.

It's bloody awful but when I saw the thread, the first thing on my mind was...

United Airlines though... what a bloody shower.

I'd have left the plane too.

A great point A.J.

The owners must bear some culpability. That poor dog.

..it says in the article that the airline accepts full responsibility...which is no comfort atm, I know...this is just so sad and tragic.....and ‘preventability’ always adds another layer to that because this sad loss of life could have been prevented...

...all of the ‘if onlys’ so many people must be feeling.....if only the correctly sized travelling box/cage had been used and the pup was under the seat...if only the attendant hadn’t demanded and enforced something that was obvious in its danger to the pup...if only all on the flight had realised how weakened the ‘voice’ was becoming before all fell silent......so many if onlys must be felt by so many people right now...it’s all heart-breaking...I really feel for the flight attendant as well because their if onlys will be so difficult to live with...I’m not sure if I could live with something like that...the distress of the mother and the children and all on the flight, just awful and so sad for all...awful...

One of the most tedious things in the world is to have someone post a dictionary definition to intelligent adults.

Oh fgs nobody is laughing at the actual story.

The joke was "Birds (excluding Cockatoos)" as in excluding Cockatoos is racist, nothing to do with the dog being black

Saph literally quoted that "birds (excluding cockatoos)" so how the colour of the dog came into it. [emoji23]
