No not really, i was told to take things easy and not over do things. I'm not sure whether i am able to drive when i am older though.
|
To be honest i dont see why they should force people who really dont like sports to have to run around in the freezing cold. Its not fair on the really bad people who allways lose Lol!
|
Nooo Way. I understand what you mean. I do GCSE P.E And i love it. I suppose in my lessons a major majority can play all sports so you are playing/competing against your same ability.
I Think P.E Is important for anybody it keeps you fit and healthy. In The National Curriculum lessons i dont like as much because it isn't as challenging. But When were playing rounders and stuff i dont mind it. If i am ever a captain i always choose the people who get picked last first. I hate it when its always the same people who get picked last, its so mean... its like "I guess ill have to have you" I think thats really horrible. But i suppose it depends if you like P.E or not.... But i do think it should be a core subject. |

I used to allways get picked last, bunch of popular freaks in my class Lol |
I think when in a team you pick the best sporty players because you want to win...that makes sense to me might sound hard but some people DO pick their friends over the sporty types. The same thing would happen if it was a maths competition you would pick the best people at maths. The people who are poor at maths would be picked last there too..when pupils are doing the picking there will always be atleast one upset thats why it should be done randomly or alphabetically.
If you dislike PE for the way it is run or dislike the teacher then fair enough but you need to learn to just get on with it as its part of life you won't always enjoy doing things but it has to be done. If you love football but hate tennis you have to just get on with it as you can't always get what you want. Some people love sports and would play all day every day and hate maths english etc but you cannot always give people what they want. Each subect teaches people different qualities and you pick up something from each one which will help you down the line. |

Maybe in PE you where last but what about other subjects? for any other "team or group work"? I think this is one thing schools should look at...if people picked in pairs that would kind of solve things as two people would be last not one. Randomly makes alot more sense though or just standing everyone in one line and the teacher saying "Blue team" or "red team" but even in that someone will be last. There are people out there who are cruel and nasty but you should try not let them bother you just think of it saving the best til last and rise above anyones comments.
|
Yea i can understand that, im just glad i dont do PE now. and i have also been picked last in other subjects as well, lets just say im not very popular, alot of people hate me for no reason and leave it at that Lol

I don't think Science is important atall, unless you're planning on doing it for further education then it's absolutely pointless because i'm never going to need to know how many atoms something has. Although i don't like it, i am FORCED to sit in a boiling hot room, listening to some bore ramble on about protons and electrons and make notes all lesson. My mum isn't able to write me a note to allow me to sit in the corner and do nothing because it's a ''great idea'', i have to ENDURE it, endure a double lesson of something which i'm never going to use in my future life. Luckily for you P.E haters, you can forge notes to get out of it, enough people do it in my school and it doesn't half annoy me because they're the same people who are ''angels'' in all the other lessons and are known as a ''star student' and it's pathetic because they're simply boneidol. Obviously i don't try as hard in Science, English, R.E because it doesn't interest me and i'm not going to need them but although i don't try as hard as the genuis', i know it's something i have to do 5 hours a week of so i put as much effort in as my attention spam allows because i'm not a boneidol person. Plus, P.E is only for 2 hours a week, not 5/6 like the others. I think people should just get on with it and stop complaining as much, if you put more effort into actually doing it and actually tried it out then i'm sure you'd even enjoy it in the end. However, if you still don't then it's called ''tough'', you should just get on with it. One more thing... people go on about being picked last etc. When i go captain in football then i do pick my team based on who are the best because i want to win, obviously and the worse players are picked last, but i'm sure i wouldn't be top of any of their lists if they had to chose people to do a Science project because they'd want the best grade they could and i'd hinder them. The point is, well i don't actually know but people just need to realise that it's a ''core'' subject for a reason and it's there for a reason and you should just do it, quit moaning and do it. |

Im lucky anyway ive left now. I no longer have to stand around doing nothing. |
I didnt like PE because im small and therfore i wasnt good at thing slike netball basketball etc. Howdver i did enjoy things like dance, aerobics etc. However if you are a boy thats different. I like whoever said there should be 2 different section sthose who are good and those who dont reallky enjoy it
|
I think it should definately be kept as a core subject no question.
Ant, i fully agree with what your saying because i was in the same boat as you when i was at school loved PE but couldn't stand Science but because we had no choice i had to sit there listening to aload of rubbish that bored me. I can understand where the people are coming from when they say 'but it's embarrasing doing PE' because it's not nice at all when you have to do something your not really that good at but it works both ways, for example i was rubbish at Science and if a question was asked infront of the whole class i would just freeze because i didn't have a clue what the teacher was talking about and then of course people would laugh which made me feel really embarrased and low. |
But even though I enjoyed playing basketball and football, I still hate the way its structured.
I think PE should be core 7,8,and 9 but in Yrs 10 and 11 we should get a choice. |
P.E is absolutely stupid. I HATED it when I was at school, but saying that I never did it lol. I just think school is bad enough as it is, without having to stand outside in the freezing cold for an hour, or make a fool or yourself. :bored:
|
I see the argument from both sides. I see why people would find it no fun to be picked last etc.. but I also see why others would want be enthusiastic about it.
My daughter loves sport, she will get into any game or activity. In fact she doesnt think she gets enough PE!! However she is good at most things which makes it easier for her. I dont think there is a right and wrong here, just different feelings about different subjects. |
thats like it was at our school chris hehe
|
Ant,did you say Science was a core subject :conf2: I never knew Science was a core subject there! The only ones we have are English,Maths,P.E and Irish which really I think is more stupid than P.E.
I hate Irish though and I still find P.E worse. In academic subjects, however it seems you can just zone out half the time if you're bad at the subject. In P.E they make you feel like an absoulute twat if you do one thing wrong. Academic subjects are more for a person alone. P.E is a group effort and when you feck it all up,the burden of losing is put onto you. P.E is supposed to teach teamwork but it seems to be about competetion than anything else. If theres a quiz or something in another class its a once-off but P.E is just constant humilation and competetion. Its the test of the fitness and I hate it. |
P.E taught me more about bullying!
|
i didnt like PE, but i always loved when we done indoor soccer and basketball, but PE shouldnt be a core subject.
|
I hate PE!
Its sooooooo Sick (Running for 60 mins n stuff) :cloud: |
The people who love PE are the skinny people who are really good at it and who just want to run around in the freezing cold
I am not one of them people, sure i LOVED tennis and maybe football but the others i hated with a passion, i hate team sports because its the whole teacher chooses a captain, you get picked last, yadda yadda thats why i love tennis, you can just pick to work with your mate and have a laugh |
From my experiences of PE , it is a horribly structured , horribly mis managed subject full of cliches , favourtism and class superiority structures with the same 4 or 5 people being the sport types , the other 10 or 11 being physically incapable of much at all being shouted at , and the remaining 2 or 3 [Read : me] opting to go behind the school and smoke a joint instead.
Im all for PE being OPTIONAL but to even suggest it should be a core subject is absoloutely mental. Its different from all the other subjects and you know it , so no comparisons to Science or what not. |

i do a level p.e and love it but i can see why people dont like it so making it a core subject is a bit hatsh |
I hated it in lower High School
but in Yr 10/11 it was fun because we got to choose what we wanted to do |
