I was just asking if you personally found it a problem or not. Just not certain on your views on the whole 'ignore' thing :)

I don't 'suffer' them....I bypass their comments or respond to them if I want to. I don't see the problem. I just don't feel the need to put anyone on ignore. It's a personal choice and I'm merely explaining why I have never done it and never will. I like to see a whole debate rather than pick and choose who I do want or don't want to see. It's just my choice...

As I have just said to Amy Jade...I like to see the whole debate so I never or will ever put someone on ignore. I simply scroll to the next comment if I find a comment inappropriate or if it's debatable then I comment.

No one because I like to torture myself oop

JerseyWins 17-04-2018 11:20 PM

But I just generally don't have an issue with people tbh... and if I do I don't really care enough to completely block the person out especially online.

Eddie. 17-04-2018 11:27 PM

Zero though I may consider adding on to it if you know what I mean...

Barry. 17-04-2018 11:30 PM

I didn’t know you could ignore people.

Maru 17-04-2018 11:40 PM

For me, it helps for large discussion threads and the forum in general to be more readable. I feel like the context of the actual conversation actually makes more sense to me when sh%tposting is removed. Like there are people who no matter show up to relive the same arguments. Those people are not actually reading anything, they're just finding ways to get in and shift the conversation towards them because the thread is going a direction they don't like...

I also have a bad tendency to get distracted by side conversations and going off-topic as well, so it's also a reminder for myself to stay on-topic... and not to be distracted by those naughty side-conversations :skull:

And the third reason, but I think the most important... some I put on ignore because I've figured out they either overly sensitive or have some other pet peeve that makes my responding to them problematic. It is better to have them off than for me to accidentally piss them off. Which has happened to me in the past, so I like to think I am doing both people a favor.

I feel like it's a common courtesy to put someone on ignore who you know will never get on with (and who you feel cross with), than to argue with them and chase them around the board and continue the same arguments... there's literally no reason to keep reading their posts if it's just going to upset both people.

Just my thoughts.

Would've been only one if RileyH left for good

...I had one person properly on ignore one time during BB season...it was when Alex Rose Lee was a housemate and her mum joined the forum...I think I got a little emotionally invested that year because I know how upset Alex’s mum obviously was with some of the harsher comments...and just general things about Alex’s past etc...anyway, I put one particular ‘Alex hater’ on ignore...other than that, not so much with ignoring though...it’s funny because maybe some members I could have put on ignore back in the day...are some I have had great friendships with over time...funny old world, funny old forum...

thesheriff443 18-04-2018 05:32 AM

Can this pointless thread be closed, calling members twats and idiots!

No one cares who you have on ignore.

Barry. 18-04-2018 05:50 AM

Who’s calling members names?

It takes a lot for me to put somebody on ignore, but if I'm finding the vast majority of somebody's posts irritating to the point where I'd rather not see anymore of them, then the function is great. I wouldn't use it as a quick fix simply because I don't agree/get along with somebody.

Kizzy 18-04-2018 10:22 AM

0 it doesn't work, I will be saying something and the person I have on ignore would respond and I won't see it then there'll be the 'Ha! see you have no answer for that'! :/

I prefer to see the whole debate.

Nicky91 18-04-2018 10:27 AM

0 because i find that rude and disrespectful

armand.kay 18-04-2018 10:39 AM

Non, seems like a lot of effort when I can just keep scrolling if I want to ignore.
