Watch what you say! Northan Ireland is a region. Republic of Ireland is a country
Glad somebody pointed that out!:spin2:

I think it is an advantage... but only if you are a decent housemate.

I know the Irish people really got behind Ray when he was in the house. I'm not sure if we could vote when Brian was in the house.

Then again, if you're from a big English city, you can end up having quite a large fanbase there too. Like when you look at X Factor, Ray had a lot of Liverpool behind him.

Depends really. Can be an advantage though.

BigBrother9 27-05-2007 02:08 PM

i dont think we had scottish house mates

Is it? :laugh2: Well I call it country anyways.
All welsh people assume wales is a country, it's a principality of England nothing else. I'm part welsh and live in Wales but sometimes am ashamed of being Welsh because of the blatant patriotism of a place that would fall to its knees without England.

*NOT AIMED AT YOU :bored:, Just at Glyn-like welsh people and people from all celt-lands who think they are seperate but joint.*
YOU NEED TO SORT OUT YOUR GEOGRAPHY. Wales is not a principality of England. It's a region in the UK. Wales, England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland go together to form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I am not English at all. So don't ever say anything that remotely insinuates that!!!!!!!!! :(

Lesley was from Huddersfield.

BIG-BRO-FAN 27-05-2007 03:46 PM

Jason from BB5 was Scottish aswell, wasnt he?

Just to make it clear- The Republic of Ireland is NOT and NEVER WILL BE in the united kingdom! I do see that they have an advantage because over here everyone was voting for anna, brian, ray, spiral. Nobody voted for Orlaith thoigh because she disgraced the nation! I hated how patriotic glyn was, i mean, eveybody in there was from a country, that didnt mean he had to go around draped in a welsh flag!

Princess 27-05-2007 07:31 PM

It is a slight advantage. But a lot of people do look past the nationality and just vote for the good housemates rather than where they come from. I never vote for Irish people because I never like any of them! But then again I'm really unpatriotic.

Did people have the chance to vote for Orlaith? She left voluntarily.

She's also Northern Irish which, obviously, isn't part of the republic.

People did vote for Orlaith. It was her and Kemal up for eviction and she stayed, and then she decided to leave. So she was really popular.

i t6hought she was from monaghan! yeah she was up against kemal!

Billy 27-05-2007 09:30 PM

Why did Orlaith disgrace the nation? I liked her

Lil-Lindz 27-05-2007 09:31 PM

In a sense an advantage because clearly scottish will vote for a scottish HM and irish for an irish and welsh for a welsh
but fundamentally it really depends on what sort of person the housemate is

cepb 27-05-2007 09:31 PM

I liked Orlaith too! How did she disgrace the nation?

AznInvasion 28-05-2007 03:31 AM

The only disadvantage is that a repeat of Glyn/Imogen conversations could happen again involving talking about other housemates in front of them whilst the housemate doesn't know what they're saying. Although...if the other housemates wanted to talk about other housemates, they'd just need to get a room.

But all in all....Irish/Welsh/Scottish accents are freaking seksay :) I'm all for it.

Not really because everything they said that was in Welsh was subtitled.

Sam 28-05-2007 03:05 PM

I think its funner have Welsh people in there

That's not what I was saying though...I was saying that Glyn and Im kept talking about housemates (often in a negative manner) while the housemates that they were talking about were close by.

chazwwe 28-05-2007 11:53 PM

i think its a adantege

GlitterEyes 28-05-2007 11:55 PM

I think its an advantage because you have more support from the public where as english contestants are liked more for their actions and what they do.

chazwwe 28-05-2007 11:56 PM

yep true^^
